🫰🏻June Reads     I did not read all the books in my first photo haha that is my insane stack from the @qbdbooks Festival of Reading!! A few of these are in my July tbr, can you guess which ones??     What I actually read-     ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson- amazing, no notes, sad I didn’t read it earlier, incredible and refreshing story!     ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   Once, Again, Always by Amanda Gayle- thank you @harpercollinsaustralia for my earc, full review will be posted later this week!     Binding 13- the narration is where it’s at, I am giving it 4 stars but definitely have some thoughts I’ll share on my stories once I’m finishing Keeping 13 (not posting permanently on the grid, I’m not taking on the fandom).     You Made a Fool of Death with your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi- read this in one sitting, I loved it, it did not go in the direction I expected and I was here for the ride!     Otis Ottley and the School in the Sky by Will Kostakis- a debut middle grade novel by Aussie Author Will! Will did an incredible job at capturing a child’s long lasting grief upon losing a parent. While exploring deep topics and themes, there were constant moments of hilarity as Ollie tried to break into the magic school above his city!       ⭐️⭐️⭐️   War of the Wyverns by S.F Williamson- definitely the biggest disappointment following an excellent five star book one, in reality probably 2.75       Pictured are some bookish snaps from my busiest month ever, attending the QBD 150 Festival of Reading (few posts back), catching up with @allshereads in Canberra while attending the ABA 2026 Conference (another earlier post, reel still to come), plus a visit to the @quickbrownfoxbookshop in Brisbane the other week! I was a judge for the local CBCA Readers Cup and visited these cool markets at Felons to get this beautiful Heated Rivalry mug (weirdly not pictured but pictured are these cool Pokémon prints I got for my sons bedroom)!! I might write grimdark but my life is a cozy fantasy right now 🥺 Thank you for this you wonderful WONDERFUL souls, and thank you Mahwash, the bestestest friend, for assembling and avengerzing this surprise. With all the legal case work I have for tomorrow, I have barely had time to process that the book releases *this soon*. This surprise was the perfect therapeutic alarm. Thank you so much!!

🫰🏻The Books That Made Me! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Thanks for the tag @maddys.books, this was really fun to make and to see what others shared too! I’ve tagged some book friends to see what they loved growing up and the new favourites they’ve added to their collection but no pressure to do a post! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Featured is me reading HP on our Christmas beach holiday, post swim, after getting this book as a Xmas gift. Like so many of us I was consumed by this series and have fond memories of impatiently waiting at book stores with my mum for books 4, 5, 6 and 7! ⁣Thank god for Dramione nowadays. ⁣ ⁣⁣ The books in this post are books that I really do hold close to my heart. Books from my late primary years, through to post grad are books I genuinely reread every few years (except house of night, hush hush and divergent haha but they were pivotal books during those life moments). I’ve just put one book from a beloved series in the post, so do yourself a favour and read the complete works. I definitely should give a special mention to the following books I also love and always think about: Red Rising, ADSOM, Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Once There Were Wolves. ⚔ The Rising 🌞 by @joriccioni The Branded Season Book 2 I'm super chuffed to be a part of the digital book tour team promoting the finale in the Branded Season duology, The Rising! I only recently read the first book, The Branded, and posted a review about it yesterday (TLDR it's a 4/5⭐ ripper) and was able to tear through The Rising in the last week as well. It truly is a great experience promoting something you genuinely think other people will love too and so I wanted to thank @panterapress for getting in touch and letting me join the fun. ✨ Book Review ✨ A wonderful end to a short, sharp, blitz of a story. The Rising brings it home as Nara Fornwood faces off against the oppression of the Isfalki regime with all the grit and sass any tenacious heroine could muster. With the help of very unlikely allies and courage born from love, stubbornness, and an almost self-damning amount of pride, our solitary Sway rises to the challenge against inveterate belief, extortion, abused power, deception, and betrayal. What I loved the most about this story was the rich array of culture, and the way prejudices between people from very different walks of life were challenged and disbanded. This element of character growth drew me in and I found this was the main reason I was cheering for Nara's success. The way it was written, the vivid imagery, the contrast in customs, the strong personalities, and each character's strengths and flaws, all woven together seamlessly made for a truly great read. ❤️ The Rising by Jo Riccioni ❤️ ✾ Welcome to my tour post for The Rising, book two in the Branded Season duology! I am super grateful to @panterapress and @joriccioni for including me in this blog tour! I absolutely loved The Branded (book one), so I was thrilled to be included. ✾ ❤️✨ Review for The Rising✨❤️ This is an epic conclusion to an epic duology! I'll keep my review spoiler free (for the first book too!), but I highly recommend you read this duology. The Rising picks up from The Binding and then builds in pace. The book is exciting and engaging - I found it nearly impossible to put down, just like the first. Jo Riccioni writes with passion and it comes through on each page. The magic is described well, and the battle scenes are easy to follow. This book is packed with adventure, action, family relationships and an incredible fantasy world. A duology works extremely well for this story, however the world building was so in-depth and I found myself becoming attached. Two for Tuesday ✨ How’s your week going so far? I’m ready for the weekend and it’s only Tuesday! 😴😂 I wanted to say a massive thank you to @joriccioni and @panterapress for sending me a copy of this gorgeous book and inviting me to be part of the book blog tour! If y’all remembered last year, I read The Branded (the first book of the branded season duology) and absolutely devoured it! The second and final book to complete the duology, The Rising, is finally out and everyone should go and get their hands on a copy! Not only is the plot to this fantasy duology amazing, but how gorgeous are these covers?! Imagine them on display on your bookshelves at home 🤩 If you’re a lover of SJM (which I now am), enjoyed The Fourth Wing or just simply want to start reading more fantasy novels, I highly suggest you pick up this duology!
