Fear is a MF’er.

“It takes a village to raise a child.”-African American Proverb

That phrase is more than parenting; it’s about the people who show up, pour into our children, and love them as their own. It’s about aunties, uncles, mentors, coaches, teachers, and community. It’s how we help raise the next generation together and I take my role as Auntie very seriously.

My first niece is graduating from high school and preparing to head off to college. She’s stepping into a new season of freedom, discovery and young adulthood. What a privilege it is that I’ll only be 30 mins away.

As she begins this next chapter, I hope I’ve taught her strength and grace. More than anything, I hope I’ve shown her that she gets to create a life that is fully her own. She doesn’t need anyone’s permission to dream big, choose her path, pursue the career she wants, or love who she loves. Her life belongs to her. Her Auntie does what she wants unapologetically and I pray she knows she can too!

I’m grateful to have been part of her village. She knows she can call when she needs advice, encouragement, a safe place to land, or even something from her shopping cart. That’s a role I never take for granted.

Anaiya, I am so incredibly proud of you. Graduating high school with an Associate’s Degree and high honors is no small accomplishment. You’ve worked hard, stayed focused, and continue to exceed expectations.

Keep shining. Keep dreaming. Keep becoming. Asè my love.

Your village is cheering for you every step of the way. Always remember your Auntie is a big Country Texan and I’d flex on anyone for you. ✨

I'm exhausted from this party! But I think back to Oct/Nov 2025 when I didn't think Mommy would see her bday. BUT GOD! He’s a keeper. The Lord continues to strengthen her.

So every year we are going to celebrate her in a BIG WAY! She deserves it. Thank God for my community here in LA. We don’t take her life for granted.

When the confetti popped, Mommy said, “OMG! I thought I was dead!” Girl 😂 She gets an F!!!!!!!

To another year with my girl!!! 🎁

Working with your spouse can be rewarding… and it takes a lot of work.

We didn’t think we’d be back in the place, but God and purpose clearly had other plans.

In 2009, we became house parents, living and working in a group home caring for six teenage boys.

That was our crash course in teamwork, leadership, and learning to build under pressure.

Now, 16 years later, here we are again, back in that same rhythm, working side-by-side.

Instead of supporting and helping to build up children who had been torn down, we are now building up businesses.

Today we help small businesses grow, stay visible, and keep their doors open through authentic, community-driven marketing.

The lessons we learned back then still guide us now:

Lead with heart.
Stay true to yourself.
Work with purpose.
Serve and love people first.

That’s what Equity Digital was built on.
