With all of the warm days we've had, it's hard to believe that a little over a month ago, we were experiencing freezing rain and snow. But the the cold temperatures have a way of bringing this community together.

During the inclement weather, so many volunteers showed up and said "Yes" in the most beautiful ways: checking on friends and helping pack up tents and belongings, keeping them company in the shelters or motels, checking on those who chose to stay outside—sometimes in the middle of the night, providing medical care and support, and delivering simple comforts like pizzas and warm coffee. Many of our friends who are currently or previously homeless jumped right in to help as well—because some of the first to say "yes" are the ones who know the cold the most.

To everyone who braved the wind, the ice, and the long hours—we want to remind you how grateful we are for all the ways you say "Yes" to this work.

Had a lovely Xmas with some of my favorite people in the world. I cannot believe how fast my baby cousins are growing up.
I wish I had the time and money to see everyone more often, but I’m so thankful for these little moments that I’ll cherish forever.

I am going to caption this with the statement of the sender of these pictures “It was such a beautiful and serene space this evening.” Yes, yes, it was, @thejoyfulgreen.
.
Group sessions have such a special quality and environment. I promise you we get up and move too, but I never get video of it! Tonight was such gentle progress with sacred tender moments. What a privilege it is to lead + guide in such spaces of the heart, mind, and spirit.
.
Our theme: “I believe you.” Whew, feel it and say it again!
.
Thank you again to @solandsagestudios for our Dallas/Richardson space. See you all again next month, January 15th. ♥️

Several have asked what a group session is like and what to expect. Such a good question and one that is diverse, because every group session is unique, but I can give you an idea.
.
We BREATH.
We usually start seated on the floor with some simple breath-work and gentle movement. We began to approach the body like a tender conversation. We don’t force anything or bust down any emotional doors.
.
We MOVE.
We will end up on our feet utilizing movement and rhythm of some kind as well. There’s no expectation of perfection or performance. We move to our own needs with our own intentions.
.
We LISTEN.
The body speaks - We listen. Body language begets body language. These sessions are unique in that everyone comes with their own particular purposes and their own particular body language. As your guide for the evening, I encourage each movement and breath with intention…Teaching you how to observe, differentiate, hold space, tune in, and affirm your innate abilities.
.
We RELEASE.
While we listen, express, and observe we find the release and regulation of embodied movement and breath. The moment the breath informs and the body accepts the present moment and just.lets.go.
.
We FEEL.
Without judgment we allow authentic feelings with open awareness to our needs.
.
We REST.
As an ending song plays, we will end the session after some individualized care on the floor on our backs or gently on our side allowing everyone to absorb and simply be in the moment - finishing with rest and regulated breath.
.
We END.
The quick Q and A at the end is for attendees benefit to ask any questions of me about their experiences. You may share some of our takeaways, but only if you desire.
.
WHAT TO BRING: a yoga mat, water bottle, pillow and blanket, or eye covering, if you desire.
.

This was unique, and yet natural. Nothing I expected and nothing I was surprised by. When you listen to the body, it speaks, and sometimes it SINGS!
.
To say that I am proud of these women is such an understatement. Not only did they trust me to lead and guide them, but more importantly, they trusted themselves…Validating their voices in a simple melody, and just listen to the breaths in between.
.
Did this reverberation massage and help regulate our systems giving the vagus nerve stimulation? Yes, and more. It was a gentle awakening, a witness - a song.
