23/23 - The Finale💔

A sunrise boat trip where we wrote our dreams and let them sail in the ocean - my dream literally jumped out of my blessing basket into the sea but thankfully @eman.castillo was there at the rescue and managed to grab it and put it back in. I thought at first it was a bad omen and that it was a sign my dream won’t come true….I then rewired this to frame it as follows “ my dreams may not be easy and plain sailing but with hard work and determination everything will fall into place - sometimes all you need is a different perspective. We then headed back for graduation and started those long dreaded goodbyes.

2 weeks ago I finished the most incredible experience, with the most incredible people in the most incredible place.

I’ve put off writing this post for many reasons but felt it appropriate to put it up today as I reflect on my journey over the past month recounting the life lessons I’ve learned and will take with me for the rest of my life.

A few things fell into place for me here more than just the yoga but the way I talk to myself, compare myself to others and made me question my self doubt.

Pushing myself physically and mentally as there were times I wanted to give up and go home I was tired, injured, sore and had moments where I didn’t know if I could do it. We were told one day 1 it’s one of the hardest yoga trainings out there but I now realise they didn’t mean just the physical aspect. We were challenged in so many ways and I am super thankful for this and making life long friends along the way was another bonus.

The way you carry yourself on the mat is the way you carry yourself in life, stay focused - keep pushing and never give up you don’t know what might happen. Be kind to yourself in every way and keep pushing those boundaries ✨

Testing my physical boundaries in Bali 💦

As someone who mostly practices solitarily, stepping into a fast-paced, high-intensity Rocket class was an amazing change of pace.

Mission vibes are pure sweat and movement. With so much happening around me, I treated it as a masterclass in concentration, locking into my breath and staying anchored in my own body despite the high-energy room.

That being said, my internal focus didn't translate to my face 🤣. If you aren't making borderline concerning faces or accidentally falling out of a shape into a sweaty heap on the floor, are you even doing Rocket?

Thanks @astorayoga for creating magic with the simplest delivery. Your sober, direct approach stripped away the noise, giving us exactly what we needed to find our own strength in a powerful class. 🚀

22/23🥹

My heart is full writing this, I have no idea what I did to deserve a life so filled with love and happiness. The past 2 years has been a whirlwind of emotions and it seems to just keep getting better. It’s important to keep taking risks and pushing myself out my comfort zone and this is what happens you do♥️

This was our last night all of us would be together, 22 days of deep conversations, opening up, sharing stories, supporting one another and creating a bond like no other. At the start of the training David told us how fast this would go and I didn’t believe him, but it felt like 3 weeks was gone in the blink of an eye.

I danced the night away and did a bit of karaoke, (anyone who knows me knows I love to sing…. Badly). I love laughing and having fun and feel amazing to have been able to bring joy and to the group this night.

I have actual goosebumps writing this post as this day was bitter sweet, knowing it was our last night together felt so unfair but it’s what I signed up for I just don’t want it to end, which is funny as I cried because I didn’t want to come and now I’m crying because I don’t want to go. I had no idea I would make life long friends and meet the purest souls along the way, this journey has been magical✨

Thank you to all my friends and the teachers for making this journey one of the most unforgettable of my life it’s not goodbye it’s see you later!🤍

21/23🧚🏻‍♀️

Taught my own vinyasa sequence I created which was super fun, incorporated all my favourite poses from my own practice along with the MPS we have been learning. Enjoyed getting creative and supporting my student with adjustments to make her yoga experience even more fun.

Also had our mock exam this morning which was super helpful in going over the areas I needed to consolidate before tomorrow.

Ended the yoga day with a workshop on savasana IFYKYK….. I think the feedback I gave about this was “it felt like I had been touched by angels” it was pure bliss. Another workshop ASAP plzzzz🙏🏼

Baliwood for dinner still wasn’t 100% so had to eat plain pasta again….but still had the loveliest night😍

This day was our last full day at the Shala after 20 days together and this is when it started to sink in a little our amazing yoga experience was coming to an end…..

20/23👀

Still unwell this day but powering through.. mind over matter 💪🏼

Group teaching again to help develop confidence, practice our adjustments and get comfortable teaching others, this one I was slightly nervous about as it’s the part of the MPS I struggled the most… but I had fun with it 😋

Also an afternoon lecture on the ethics of business and advice on how to start our yoga career. Very real and practical advice from teachers who have extensive knowledge and experience in this field. Was super interesting to see the market trends and demand and made me happy that the love of yoga is growing in all ages, especially the 65 year olds and older.

Yoga is not about handstands, flying back and through and doing 100 chaturangas (although these are also pretty cool) it’s a lifestyle and integrating asans in daily life for mobility and strengthening benefits everyone!!

🙌🏼Yoga is for everyone🙌🏼

Officially a yoga teacher 🕉️

What. A. Journey.

One intense, transformative and emotional month of Ashtanga, Yin, Vinyasa, Rocket Yoga, pranayama, meditation, hours of yoga philosophy and anatomy… but above all, so many laughs, tears, deep conversations, beautiful connections and new friendships with amazing humans from all over the world.

To my incredible teachers @david_yogasana @devipumpkin & @apostolis.psaros : thank you from the bottom of my heart. I truly couldn’t have dreamed of better teachers to guide me through this journey 🤍

And to my fellow yogis: you’re all pretty damn perfect, and I love each and every one of you. Thank you for everything we’ve shared over this past month. I’ll cherish these memories forever.

Feeling incredibly grateful 🫶🏾
