I realized I never shared this performance from the Industry Showcase—so what better time than when celebrating my dad’s birthday 🎉

The Boss was inspired by the moments I spent growing up listening & dancing to Diana Ross records with my dad.

This piece is rooted in that joy and in the culture that raised me: the energy of Soul Train lines, the unity of line dancing, and the pride and tradition of strolls from historically Black fraternities and sororities.

Happy Birthday, Dad. This one’s for you.

Feeling really grateful to be in the room with dancers who bring their whole selves to the process. 🙏🏾

This rehearsal was about more than just choreography — it was about listening, committing, refining, and growing together.

Every time dancers choose to train with me, to trust my vision, or to come back to class — I don’t take that lightly. Whether it’s for a workshop, a performance, or just a Monday afternoon at @stepsonbroadway… I’m thankful.

If you’ve been in my class before — thank you. And if you’re thinking about jumping in, I’d love to have you.
