Cornell alumna Toni Morrison once said, “It’s not possible to constantly hold onto crisis. You have to have the love and you have to have the magic. That’s also life.”

The climate on campus this Homecoming season is different from last year’s in more ways than one. But, again, the Cornell Black Alumni Association’s priorities have not changed. Our community is at the center of all we do and our students have made it abundantly clear that they want us back for Homecoming.

So, we’re in town to support, have important conversations, and last, but never least, we’re coming with the vibes🫡 Join CBAA and our co-sponsors from the Office of Black Student Empowerment, our Black Graduate student organizations, and MGFC for our CBAA Cookout on Kite Hill Lot this Saturday, October 17th at 11am❤️

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Link in bio.

25 Years Ago, Vernesha Williams Montgomery and I made history by becoming the first Black Homecoming King & Queen Court on Northwestern University’s Campus. (Daphne Maxwell Reed of Fresh Prince of Bel Air & Bursar’s Takeover was the first Black Homecoming Queen)

With NU’s Homecoming Only One Week Away I Thought It The Perfect Time To Travel Back Down Memory Lane….

I will never forget how exhilarated campus life was that night before, when administration made the announcement at the pep rally/parade. When I tell you the Black Students & Faculty went up- We Went UP!!! It was such an impactful moment. I also remember my Frat/Ship Jimmy Henry 🤙🏾 and his girl Anika having the help me up to my dorm room that night because I’d drank waaaaay too much at the after party. So the smile you see me sporting in this picture is yes, that of excitement but also that of my trying NOT to throw up all over the football field due to a crazy hangover.

Ah…. College Days Swiftly Pass 😆

The Divine Nine just became a card game. Who are you summoning? 👀🃏

Swipe to see all 9 fraternities and sororities reimagined as warriors in a Yu-Gi-Oh-inspired deck—from Iota’s Centaur Vanguard to Zeta’s Dove Ascendant.

You get THREE cards to build your team. Who’s making the cut - and who’s carrying? Drop your lineup, then send this to your chapter’s group chat. 😂

Fan concept, made for the culture.
