Devastated to share this news, but two days ago during race hill training here in Sölden, I injured my knee. I’m flying home tomorrow, and I won’t know the full extent of the injury until I go in for surgery this Friday.

To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. Thank you all so much for the incredible support, it means the world right now. Wishing all the racers the absolute best of luck this weekend! I’ll share an update with you all next week once I know more🩵

RECOGNITION POST | NATIONAL VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Taking a quick break from athlete profiles to recognize our very own Jennifer Kingdon! Jennifer has been recognized as the Alpine Canada Volunteer of the Year for 2025-26.

For the past 13 years, Jen has dedicated countless hours to the Asessippi Ski Club, serving as Club President since 2018. As a proud member of both Manitoba Alpine Ski Division and the Asessippi Ski Club, Jen has made an incredible impact on the ski racing community across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota.

From helping install 60 rolls of B-net each year and keeping our race volunteers fed with her signature soup and cookie dough balls, to organizing fire pits, coordinating with the ski area, serving on boards and committees, and leading major fundraising efforts, Jennifer truly does it all. She even helped raise $10,000 to build a new start shack at Asessippi in the summer of 2025. And with more fundraising and rebuilding ahead following the spring 2026 flooding, her dedication continues!

Jennifer has been part of the ski club for 13 years and has been through it all, including navigating COVID, the addition of freestyle to the club, and helping with countless race days and club events. Much of her work happens behind the scenes, but the impact she has made on our club and the entire ski racing community is impossible to miss.

Jen, thank you for the countless hours, hard work, dedication, and heart you put into our ski club. This award is so well deserved, and we couldn’t be happier to see your contributions recognized on the national stage!

Congratulations, Jennifer! We are so lucky to have you as part of the Asessippi Ski Club family.
