Some amazing pictures from the BEST day! Anthony and I were so honored to visit IQ Study school today here in Kyzylorda. We were welcomed by the most wholesome suprise in the world. A traditional meal, also a Shapan (шапан) which is the green coats we are wearing, and several dozen students and more teachers waiting to greet us!

We spent a little over an hour meeting with students, asking and answering questions about this trip, the bees, and all about life. Anthony and I both were and still are blown away by how kind everyone is here in Kazakhstan.

This is why we took today off - to spend time with people here on the ground, learn more about this beautiful country and meet even more beautiful people! Thank you and we can't wait to come back one day. For the bees!

Would you try horse milk? Experiencing local culture and meeting people is the one of the best parts of this trip.

ITS HAPPENING STARTING TOMORROW!

I will be skating from the Yrgyz River in Kazakhstan to as close as I can to the biggest city in the south, Almaty. It's going to be a vast epic three weeks and I will update everyone as soon as I can. @aluppz my support and bee team member for Kazakhstan will also be on the socials and together we will skate across the 9th biggest country (land size) on the Planet. I'm heading across Asia for the BEES BABY!

DAY 1 OF ASIA starts tomorrow morning. Much love and for the bees baby. Thank you to Ombraz for sponsoring us.

Also @parapack.co for hooking us up with some sweet headgear for the trip.

Wahoo!

I turned my bedroom into a gear room… and honestly, why didn’t I do this sooner? 😂

Instead of piling all my gear into my closet and digging through everything every time I’m packing for an adventure, I decided to give it a proper home.

Climbing gear, backpacks, camping gear… all the little things I’ve collected over the years. I wanted a space where everything has its place, it’s easy to find what I need, and I can actually see and appreciate all my gear instead of hiding it away.

Because let’s be honest, I love my gear more than anything 😂 And now I have a whole corner of my bedroom that I won’t get tired of staring at.

Next up: more adventures, more gear, and probably more reasons to reorganize this room. 🏔️

Follow along for gear talks, honest reviews, and all things outdoor gear. 🤘

We about to change season and the gear room will already have to get reorganized… 🏂 🏔️ ⚒️

In Kazakhstan! Stoked to have @aluppz here to support me and be a much loved member of the BEE TEAM. We are driving across the country so I can skate back to Almaty before winter. This is going to be the most remote epic portion of the whole trip.

Anthony and I can't wait to get the momentum going for the bees again. This is so EPIC. FOR THE BEES BABY LETS GO! Please reach out if you have any questions at all! We are still looking for sponsors for the rest of the trip. Thanks so much and for the bees baby.

Raising 1 million for the bees and world hunger. Let's make the world a better place together. When the tide comes in all boats rise.

@oisinmchughphoto commemorating day one and helping me remember how oh so special it was. This was over six months, 25lbs, and 14,000 km ago. I left the Terry Fox Statue in front of BC Place surrounded by so many I love.

Being alone is tough for myself and my mental health. But staying strong and present is so important. It's also important to know that it's okay to not be okay. Reach out to those around you and when you have the space be there for them, too.

Much love to everyone. Here's to the next leg. For the bees, baby!

Alpha Mountain via the Northeast Ridge 🏔️

Our day began with an alpine start from Lake Lovely Water. We followed a steep forest trail, worked through a short bushwhack and eventually gained the ridge, where the views across the Tantalus Range completely opened up.

From there, the terrain changed as we transitioned onto the glacier and continued through exposed scrambling and sections of climbing toward the summit.

And finally, we made it to the top of Alpha.

Rather than reversing our ascent, we descended the west side of Alpha and travelled through the alpine basin near Lambda Lake before looping back to camp.

The descent was much longer and trickier than we expected. It involved complex route-finding, a rappel and sections of steep, loose rock that required our full attention. It felt never-ending at times, but it also gave us completely different views of the mountain and made the day feel like a true alpine journey from beginning to end.

Our full loop ended up being approximately:
📍 10 kilometres
⬆️ 900 metres of elevation gain
🔁 One very big and beautiful mountain day

We used @outmap.pro to study the terrain in 3D beforehand, keep our route available while out of service and record the entire loop. I love being able to look back at our exact line and see it added to the growing map of our mountain memories.

Once we reached camp, a dip in Lake Lovely Water was definitely a must, followed by a delicious charcuterie board beside the lake. I can’t think of a better way to finish the day.

⚠️ This is an experience recap, not route instructions. Alpha is a technical and committing alpine objective involving glacier hazards, exposure, climbing and complex route-finding. Conditions can change significantly.

Follow along @mountain_marie_ for more mountain adventures. there are plenty more lines waiting to be added to the map.
