An Evening at Sunnyside: Archiving Practice

As part of our programming of ‘In the Cocoon’, @heathersutherlandwade and I hosted an intimate Artist Evening at Sunnyside, with a focus on archiving practice.

The gathering created a space for artists and cultural practitioners to connect, and also to reflect on the importance of the artist archive in their practice. Artists were encouraged to bring along any archival materials during the discussion, including sketchbooks, photographs, artworks, writing materials, journals, audio or video recordings, etc.

Thank you to everyone who participated - it was truly special and I’m so glad you were able to be part of ‘In the Cocoon’ ♡

DubYaad Cypher was a vibe! 🔥

Thank you for inviting me @tallawahpoetry! It was such a great environment and I was grateful to expose my daughter to a critical part of Jamaican culture: dub poetry. Kingston Poetry Week is such an amazing initiative @kacy.garvey @jaikupoetry ✨️

Jamaican actor and member of No-Maddz, Sheldon Shepherd, pulled up and offered some insight into the commercial side of the Dub Poetry world @thedonshepherd! 🔥

Big ups to all the amazing brands that I interacted with! @876thrift @always_lstr @charliebobus @pushayuteinc @simonefruittreedewar
