Monarch Love Stories: Valentine’s Day Edition

I was a freshman football player in 2018, on campus a few weeks early for training. Every morning at Broderick Dining, I kept noticing the same girl, and somehow, she was always finishing up right as I sat down to eat.

The one time I finally worked up the courage to sit near her for breakfast…I got back to the table and she was gone again.

Weeks later I learned she was on the dance team. I figured she was older and probably not interested, so I moved on. Then in November, I randomly became friends with some of her friends, and they introduced us.

From that moment on, we were best friends… and eventually, married in 2025. 💍
Our entire relationship, and our growth into adulthood, happened because we were at ODU together.

Some connections just take a few tries.
