Happy International Women’s Day!

Around 25 years ago I trained for my Private Pilot Licence and was taught to fly by two female instructors. Since then I trained as an Air Traffic Controller and later a commercial pilot both of which involved being taught by a mix of male and female instructors. I’ve operated from both seats of an airliner and teach people to fly myself. Over the years I have been asked what women pilots are like to fly with. My answer has always been the same. They are equally as good as their male counterparts!

For all you Aviatrix out there, current, under training, aspiring or just like aeroplanes... you’re awesome! Happy International Women’s Day!

'I feel like I'm inside an Iron Maiden' (c) the model

This chamber would be nature's take on medieval torture machines..... I approve 😌

Horse riding with these powerful women. So fulfilling to spend time with such fierce feminine vibes! A few of the collective expeditions this year include climbing and mountaineering in Patagonia, scientific expeditions to North Pole and thunderhoofing across the wild Mongolian steppe...! 💪#powerfulwomen #thesegirls

A few weeks ago, just after the heavy frost passed, we went up to the north coast for a gallop. Beautiful scenery and company. Was amusing to be told "you ride like a Mongol"...high praise indeed! I learnt from the best horse riding culture in the world! #mongolcowgirl #horses #gallop #horsesofinstagram #ireland #northcoast #glensofantrim #friendshipgoals #bffs #powerfulwomen #womenwhoride

About six months ago I learnt to ride a horse. I wouldn't go near horses before then. I had the incredible luck of my patient, fierce and compassionate friends Carly and Aly teach me how to interact and love being around these animals. As with most super challenging events we struggle through, I learnt a lot about myself...and I was challenged learning to ride. I feel very lucky to have been gifted this skill and love by my awesome tribe. Thanks girls :-) This photo was taken in Mongolia, when I spent the summer continuing my journey and learning to ride like a Mongol cowgirl on the steppe. #horseriding #mongolia #cowgirl #tribe #girlpower #friendshipgoals #liamkellyphotography
