Free Ahmed 🕊️
I have Ahmed Shihab-Eldin to thank for my career. He took a chance on me when I was still a student, recruiting me for a dream job that changed the course of my professional life and led me to some of my closest friends.
Ahmed is a wonderful person and a fearless journalist who has dedicated his career to speaking truth to power and fighting for a better tomorrow. Ahmed has been detained in Kuwait since March 3. Journalism is not a crime. We call on Ahmed to be released immediately.
Any help in spreading the word is deeply appreciated. #freeahmed

Free Ahmed 🕊️ our friend, the journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, has not been seen since his detention in Kuwait early March. Ahmed is an American citizen. He has been arrested under spurious charges, including the dubious charge of “spreading false information”. The fact is, Ahmed is a journalist at a time when it is increasingly perilous to try and hold the powerful accountable, something he has done throughout his two-decade career. We are extremely concerned about his safety and wellbeing. Journalism is not a crime. We call on Ahmed to be released immediately. Please continue to spread the word #freeahmed

Our friend and journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin has reportedly been detained for the past 6-weeks in Kuwait. He has had limited access to his lawyer and is facing numerous charges, apparently related to social media posts pertaining to the Iran war. Will post updates as we get them but a broad reminder of the perilous situation for journalists at this moment. Ahmed must be provided necessary legal support and released. Journalism is not a crime. #freeahmed #journalismisnotacrime

Today, families came together and gave back to the community by assembling hygiene kits for @covenanthousecalifornia They enjoyed snacks, ate pizza, and connected with one another.
.
.
Giving back to the community is essential because it helps young children develop empathy, a sense of social responsibility, and a connection to their community, while also fostering important values like kindness and generosity, setting the foundation for them to become positive contributors to society later in life.
.
.
Thank you to all the families who donated supplies and their time. We couldn't do it without you. Stay tuned for more events!
