There is a peace to the hours after a homebirth that is difficult to describe until you’ve experienced it.

The baby is born, the placenta follows, everyone takes a deep breath… and then, instead of gathering belongings and preparing to leave one place for another, life simply continues.

Your bed is your own. Your blankets smell familiar. Your kitchen is only a few steps away. Your dog settles at your feet. Maybe your older children wander in when they’re ready. Your parents can visit without visiting hours. Your family life has space to gently expand to welcome someone new.

This undisturbed beginning can support many of the processes that matter most after birth:

• Extended skin-to-skin contact and uninterrupted opportunities for early breastfeeding.
• Time for mother and baby to rest together after the tremendous work of labor.
• A gentle transition for siblings and partners, who are already part of the experience rather than entering it later.
• Fewer transitions and interruptions in those first precious hours, allowing families to focus on recovering, bonding, and simply getting to know one another.
• Care that comes to you, rather than requiring you to adapt immediately to a new environment.

One of the greatest gifts of a homebirth is the peaceful period that follows. The first chapter of your baby’s life unfolds in the place where the rest of the story will be lived.

Birth does not just welcome a baby. It welcomes a whole family into something new.

A newborn meeting the world, a big brother meeting his sibling for the first time, and our Placenta Bowl quietly holding space for it all. Every detail of this birth was filled with so much love. 🤍

This is more than just a bowl. It is a keepsake.

Our Placenta Bowl was designed to hold one of the most meaningful parts of birth with the same care and beauty as everything else in this mama’s birth space. Seeing it captured alongside her newborn and her sweet big siblings meeting their new sibling for the first time is exactly why we make what we make. 🤍

Birth is not just physical.

It is shaped by how you feel in your body.

When you feel safe, supported, and not rushed,
Your body can soften and open in its own time.

The space you are in matters.
The people around you matter.

This is why we center presence, trust, and steady support.

Not as extras, but as part of how birth unfolds.

You deserve to feel safe and supported in this.

One of the most beautiful parts of midwifery care is how gentle and family-centered newborn exams can be 🤍

Your baby doesn’t get whisked away to a nursery or separated from you for routine checks. Most newborn assessments are done skin-to-skin or right beside mom, with parents fully involved every step of the way. We observe, listen, measure, assess, and support while protecting the sacred golden hour and early bonding.

Midwives understand that birth isn’t just a medical event — it’s a profound transition for the whole family. Baby stays close, parents stay informed, and care stays calm, respectful, and connected 🌊✨

How do you explain this feeling to a man?

You got hurt in relationships?
It is in relationship that you heal.
Try again. And then again. And again.

Forgive. And then give of yourself again. And again.

Relationships are where we bear witness to each other of the image in which we were made.

Pour your love into sisterhood. If you get hurt, seek healing, but do not condemn the need. Don’t convince yourself that it is your need for sisterhood that is wrong.

Continue to pursue sisterhood, it is worth the pain, when you find the honey. Like a healing balm to the soul.

Love my sisters. And the little hearts that are watching are learning to love their sisters too.
