Is EMDR therapy right for you, or do the myths have you feeling hesitant? 🤔

Here are 3 quick answers to the most common EMDR questions:

1️⃣ Is it hypnosis? Nope! You are fully awake, alert, and in complete control the entire time.

2️⃣ Is it super intense? It can be powerful, but pacing and collaboration are key - we move at your pace.

3️⃣ Is it covered by insurance? Yes, standard 50-minute sessions are typically covered!

Healing doesn't have to feel like a mystery.

Choosing your own path - and using your voice - is one of the most powerful forms of freedom we have. ✨

When you’ve experienced a history of being told "no, you can't,"

or have survived abuse, neglect, or maltreatment,

standing in your own truth can feel incredibly daunting.

But stepping into self-expression and self-attunement is a practice.

It doesn't happen overnight, and that is completely okay.

The next time you feel the urge to minimize your own needs, remember that you have the free will to say:

✋🏽 "No, I disagree."

🌱 "I prefer something else."

💬 "Let me think about it and get back to you."

Be gentle with yourself as you walk this new path of self-embodiment. Your voice matters. Your preferences matter. You matter. ❤️

Be well. I hope this information is helpful on your journey.

🤫 Reveal to Heal? Why Mind-Body Therapy Hits Different in the BE WELL Group

✨ Talk therapy has benefits—but it’s not the main path to healing in the BE WELL Women’s Trauma Support Group.

I’m Alysia W. McGlone, a mental health therapist helping women heal from childhood family trauma that impacts adult relationships, confidence, and peace.

This group uses two mind-body approaches—
1️⃣ EMDR for group healing
2️⃣ Movement + sensory awareness therapy

💫 Together, they help you feel safe in your body and replace survival responses with calm and confidence.

The difference? This helps you replace childhood survival responses to trauma with beliefs and behaviors that build on your resilience, improve mood, and help you to meet your needs without guilt. This way you can experience a physical felt sense of safety and confidence around family members.

If you're looking for relief from:

🏠 Toxic generational family patterns

🏃🏿‍♀️ Memories keeping you stuck in fight or flight

⚠️ Physically and emotionally shrinking to resolve conflicts

😓 Bodily fatigue and tension

⛑️ Embodying undesired family roles out of obligation

Then consider applying to join Cohort 5 of BE WELL. This group is backed by science and grounded in culture to help you transition from feeling stuck to free in the community space of group therapy.

Cohorts 5A and/or 5B begin January 27th and/or 31st, 2026. The application deadline is Tuesday, December 02 at 5:00 pm (ET).

For information on how to apply, online or in-person group formats, insurance, and more, visit: bewellgroup.short.gy/apply. The application is open to adult residents of NC and FL. It can be submitted on mobile or desktop and takes approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. Answers can be stored and resumed at a later time to submit responses.

What is the B.E. W.E.L.L. Group Really About?...

🦋...healing past childhood trauma so it doesn’t rob you of your present and future.

🦋...resolving the "I know...but I feel" conflict associated with undesired habits

🦋...your breakthrough from family dysfunction and low self-esteem

Have you ever felt like your ability to assert your needs confidently vanishes the moment you’re around your family?

Or have you ever felt like your emotions were hijacked unexpectedly, but didn’t know why?

These are just some of the unfortunate examples of how unresolved memories from the past can still be present today and interrupt your goals for your future.

But it doesn’t have to remain this way.

Empower yourself to build the life you want based on the truth of who you are now, not who you became to survive childhood adversity.

It is a small group limited to 4-6 people at a time to give you comfort in building a community of fellow survivors to heal and thrive.

We can’t change the past. But the beauty is that you can reclaim your present to be well.

Cohort 4 begins Saturday, September 06. Insurance may apply. Applications close Friday, August 29.

🦋 Check out this link for additional details and to apply: https://bewellgroup.short.gy/apply.

Be Well,
Alysia McGlone
