Je kunt als beeldmaker alles alleen proberen uit te zoeken. Maar wat als je het samen doet? Ik weet niet hoe we het voor elkaar kregen 👀 maar ook tijdens deze 2e Kiekie Academy Community Day regende het weer pijpenstelen. ☔️ Gelukkig lieten jullie je daar niet door tegenhouden, want met bijna 100 beeldmakers kwamen we samen in Amsterdam MidWest! 🎉 Om te leren, ideeën uit te wisselen, nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten en, zoals een van jullie het zo mooi zei, weer eens lekker met andere groepjes te mixen. Want hoe fijn is het om te ontdekken dat die andere beeldmaker ook weleens vastloopt? Met zichtbaarheid, het vinden van een eigen stijl, het financieren van projecten of simpelweg het ondernemerschap naast het maken van nieuw werk. Precies de onderwerpen waar we binnen Kiekie Academy dagelijks mee bezig zijn! Met vijf fantastische experts doken we dieper in: ✨ Maartje Valk, over het financieren van je eigen projecten. ✨ Anniek Snoeijs, over het creatieve proces, van briefing tot eindbeeld. ✨ Brendan de Clercq, over licht en de mogelijkheden van studiofotografie. ✨ Gosse Bouma, over het ontwikkelen van een herkenbare signatuur en je eigen verhaal. ✨ Isabell Janssen, over authenticiteit, verbinding en je eigen beeldtaal. En dankzij onze partner Sony konden jullie ook nog volop camera’s en objectieven ontdekken en uitproberen. Wat ik misschien nog wel het mooiste vond? Alle gesprekken tussendoor. Nieuwe contacten, herkenning, ideeën en plannen die spontaan ontstonden. Want een eigen creatieve business opbouwen als beeldmaker hoef je niet helemaal alleen te doen. En dat is precies waarom ik Kiekie Academy ben begonnen ❤️ Dank aan alle experts, Sony en natuurlijk iedereen die erbij was. Hi, I’m Anniek! A portrait and fashion photographer by profession, bird enthusiast by heart. 🐦 Some of you might already know this, others might be surprised, but I have a HUGE fascination with birds. Whenever I spot one, I can’t help but smile. And when they take flight? Instant happiness. I honestly don’t know what it is, but these little (and sometimes not-so-little) creatures make me ridiculously happy. And ducks? Don’t even get me started. I absolutely LOVE them. So, I started @anniekinthewild! A little corner of Instagram where I’ll be sharing my bird photography, nature photos and outdoor adventures. Photography is my job and I absolutely love it, especially portrait and fashion photography. And enjoying nature with my camera has become a lovely way to unwind in my free time. Dutch Day at Premier Padel Rotterdam was a moment I’ll never forget… Playing at home, walking onto centre court in front of an incredible crowd, with a main draw wild card. I wanted to make that moment my own ✨ So I wore something that felt like me… A handmade diamond blazer, covered in thousands of little stones, created especially for this moment. A moment that wouldn’t have been possible without my girlfriend, who dedicated 3 full days — 32 hours in total — to hand-sticking every single stone🥹 @tianortonx @nortondesignsx On court, I am fearless. Powerful. Competitive. I fight for every point. Off court, I’m still me. Just a little softer. Sweeter. More feminine. More playful. For a long time, those two sides have felt like separate worlds. But why should they? This jacket was my way of bringing them together. A reminder that you don’t have to choose between being strong and being feminine. Between being powerful and being beautiful 🤍 You can be both. And for those wondering who Steffie is beyond the court… this was just the beginning. 👀 A huge thank you to my family, friends, sponsors and everyone who made this moment possible. “Romania in Colour”, @sonyalpha Kando ’26. First and most important question: are there any rules when it comes to nature photography? If so, I’m afraid I broke every single one of them with these edits. During these edits, I often found myself thinking about my grandfather, who used to do a lot of nature photography. He’s no longer with us, but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t approve of the way I’ve given nature’s colours my own interpretation, hahahahaha. I’ve always been a bit of an odd bird, even back in school. Spending the past week surrounded by a whole flock of fellow odd birds felt incredibly good. The images they create and the things they achieve are insane. Insane thank you for letting me be part of it, Sony! And hahahaha, ever since I started letting you decide the order of my posts, my life has become so much easier. The results are often surprising, which is exactly why I love it. As always, you can find my favourite images from this trip through the link in bio. One more week of going full throttle, and then I’m retreating into my editing cave, with Ben Howard, RY X and The War on Drugs on repeat. I need it. Much love. Bye! @sony.benelux KANDO 2026 in rural Romania is a wrap. Feeling so fortunate to be a part of this incredible group of photographers and filmmakers. From feeling quite insecure, to coming home with tons of new ideas and motivation… ➡️ For a while Ive been feeling creatively blocked. Some of my main worries before going on this trip were that I wasnt up to the level of some of the attendees. Funny enough, within minutes of coming together this feeling fades, and stoke and excitement takes its place. Being surrounded by 30 pro photographers and filmmakers is not something you do daily, so having conversations about the struggle is so valuable. Helps realise youre not alone. What inspired me most, was that we’re pointing the camera to the same object, from almost the same identical angle, yet everyone comes home with totally different shots. None of us were true wildlife/bird photographers, yet everyone pushed boundries and came home with amazing photos, videos and memories. Also incredibly funny to see so many nerds together. 🤣 My boat was also highly motivated. We also got to experience some local music and dance, which was surprisingly fun and entertaining! We were followed everywhere. Enjoyed some amazing views, in a country you’d rarely visit yourself. Enjoyed some proper company!
