POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Svādhyāya, Self-Study, invites us to notice the lens through which we see the world. Knowing that our inner world, deeply influences the way we see and experience the outer world.
In order to study the self, we need to pause, notice, pay attention, and then take a look again. Underneath our stories, our preferences, our goals, our relationships, what remains?

Bhakti Bliss✨

So words kind of fail when I try to express the feeling in my heart for the experience I just had at Bhaktify at @ashevilleyogacenter with @seanwildlotusband but imma try ….

I just attend a Bhakti yoga teacher training and for those of you that don’t know, Bhakti is a type of yoga that is all about devotion, but a special kind of devotion, devotion through joy, chanting, singing, dancing, literally anything that allows you to say THANK YOU to God and allows you to move that feeling through your body…aka “yoga of the heart” 😭😭😭

And those of you that have ever practiced yoga with me or just spent more than 15 minutes with me, know this is right up my alley. So when I saw this training was happening the week before my birthday, I was on it, bought a harmonium and everything!!

But I had no idea, the transformative awakening I was in for …

It was like nothing I have ever experienced in my entire life. Everyday my heart opened in new ways o never thought it could. I met people that saw me for who I truly am not for what they could get from me because for 5 days, we sang, we danced, we cried, we chanted, we played music, we yoga’d and most importantly we all found God, again together. Every morning, opening with Sargam which is like yoga for your voice for an hour, which I still am humming.

Through this time I remembered who I am, why I’m here, and how much love I have to give, not only to this world but most importantly…to me. I am forever changed by this experience and will never forget or the people I met all along the way, love you guys.

And that as a yoga teacher I serve as a matchmaker, for my students and God…what a gift.

This year we embraced community by sharing meals together, watching sunsets, practicing yoga, and taking in the environment around us.

All of these things reflect the essence of yoga just as much as anything we do on our mats.

Italy gives us the most incredible backdrop to practice all of these principles fully.

Join us May 1-8, 2027 for daily gentle yoga, shared meals, day trips, wine tasting through the Tuscan countryside and more. Follow the link in our bio, or visit our website for more details. Newmoonyoga.studio/events 🇮🇹

I keep using the word community, though I’m not quite sure that captures what this really is.

A group of beautiful humans who show up for each other. Lift each other up, listen to each other and care so deeply.

In class today we talked about Saucha, the principle of purity, of recognizing everything we accumulate in life without noticing. We talked about how slowing down lets us process it, digest it, set some of it back down. That’s how we clean our lives. That’s how we create space.

I’m looking at this photo now and it reminds me that the movement, the breath, the stillness…they open the space for that to happen. But doing it together is what ties it all together.

Humans have only made it this far because we’ve never done it on our own. We have to find our people. What an enormous blessing. Together IS the way. 🫶🏼

I went to yoga in the park at Harlinsdale farm. On International Day of Yoga, I always remember when I started my yoga journey. 13 years later, I still love yoga so much!

Between being on the mat, and some recent adventures, I keep returning to the same lesson. Slow down, pay attention, and allow what’s in front of you to be enough, exactly as it is.

This month, Brahmacharya reminds us all the ways to do this.
Every moment is sacred. And oh how beautiful it is. 🙏🏼

We don’t only practice as individuals, we practice as a part of the collective. We are, and will always be rooted in our community.

I will always be in awe of the love that lives within this space and its people. Gratitude for each and every one of you. 🫶🏼

Today, pause to pay attention to all that we’ve been given. 🌎
The air. The light. The ground beneath our feet.

Take a moment today to receive something you’d normally move through without paying much attention. That’s the practice.

What will you notice today?

It’s hard to believe we are less than a month away from our Il Dolce Far Niente retreat in Italy. 🇮🇹

Italy lends the most stunning backdrop for a practice like yoga. But more than the stunning views, the lifestyle of slowing down, community, and presence remind us why we show up on our mats at all.

I can’t wait to share this opportunity to take it all in. To savor the space, our time with one another, and the practice, insieme.
