POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What happens when you give young minds the tools to build, experiment, and create?

They begin to see themselves as problem-solvers.

During our Vacation School, students stepped into the world of robotics and STEM, moving beyond simply learning about technology to experiencing it with their own hands.

They explored how ideas become real, worked together to solve challenges, experimented, made mistakes, and discovered that they have the ability to build, create, and innovate.

We are deeply grateful to our implementing partner, @InnovateX, for helping us create this hands-on learning experience and giving our students the opportunity to explore what’s possible.

This wasn’t just a robotics lesson.
It was an opportunity to spark curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.

Today, they are building robots.
Tomorrow, they could be building solutions for Liberia

I created Rhetoric and Reverie because I could no longer ignore the quiet ache I carried since I visited Liberia for the first time in december of 2024.

I grew up knowing that Liberia holds beauty and pain in the same breath. A land of poetry and wounds. Of laughter and loss. Of children who learn resilience far too early and are asked to dream far too quietly.

Rhetoric and Reverie was born from the belief that those children deserve more than survival stories. They deserve beauty. They deserve to see themselves reflected with dignity, curiosity, wonder, and pride. They deserve books that do not only explain where they come from—but remind them that where they come from is worthy.

My upcoming poetry books speak of war, forgiveness, rebuilding, and responsibility. They speak of children selling chips on the roadside, of trash burning in the streets, of communities stitched together by grace rather than wealth. They speak to teens and adults because healing does not end in childhood and neither does accountability.

But my children’s books speak to something just as sacred: the right to innocence, imagination, and joy.

Through stories like Kiki & Flora and Wild & Free, I wanted Liberian children and children in the diaspora to meet their country through wonder first. Through animals, flowers, forests, and friendships. Through kindness, cooperation, and courage. Through stories that say: you belong here, and this land belongs to you too.

This is not a trend.
This is not a moment.
This is not charity for show.

This is long work. Quiet work. Rooted work.

This is building something that will outlive me.we support Libraries. We encourage Learning moments. Reading circles. A future Youth Fair. Poetry collections that ask us to forgive without forgetting. Children’s books that grow alongside the children who read them.

Because if you do not teach children who they are, the world will tell them something else.

And children deserve far more than that.

This is Rhetoric and Reverie.
A love letter to Liberia.
A promise to the children.
And the beginning of something we will build together

You got to be the change you want to see in this world, the very little efforts you’ve put in for advancement are considerable, keep at it. It was an amazing and memorable day as I honored an invite from Up Next Liberia at their second annual summit. Sitting on one of the panel discussions, I shared my story, spoke about the impact Four Hunger is making in Liberia and our objectives.

I also got to connect with some impeccable individuals, young entrepreneurs and aspiring leaders. What a day it was! Thank you to the organizers at UpNext for creating a platform to share my story and inspire young emerging leaders. Thank you @buildwealthwithrealestate, @mr_innis , @shoanacachelle , @afrikanree , @naominucia , and @sannibydesign. I believe Liberia is getting better and with people like us, Liberia will rise again.
