Just a Canadian girl who loves vintage, dogs and Blue Jays baseball

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Chris and I put up the post cards that @amandasheldonsk got me on her trip to Palm Springs.

The basement needs to be redone someday, but this bowling corner is pretty cute for now.

We love the green shag carpet, but the dogs have peed and pooped on it so many times (indoor grass right?)! The wood paneling that was already painted white before we moved in is just on top of the cinder block walls - no insulation and no door to the basement. We lose a lot of heat in the winter.

Someday, we'll frame and insulate and refinish the basement in a midmod fashion with modern efficiency.

What do you think of the @destinationpsp post cards? Cute right?! And they add colour.

@amandasheldonsk is the sweetest human being.

While on a family trip to Palm Springs, she spotted these @destinationpsp postcards and thought of me.

We have had some amazing talks in our DMs, but have never met in person. We're both Canadian but are many, many kilometers apart, being from different provinces.

I just love getting mail that isn't telling me I need to pay something or someone and Amanda's gift made my day!

Thank you for the wonderful future art for our walls, I'll be looking up what I need to get on my lunch break.

For those of you out there, tempted to pass on a tree entirely, you don’t have to deprive yourself of gorgeous ornaments. This is absolutely brilliant, don’t you think?

This DIY tree/ornament display object that @amandasheldonsk put up this year (her photo) is a really good idea.

Anyone thinking to trying this?

Continuing the garage theme ... Oh, My God! This is so cute, and yet there are so many things wrong with this picture. ⠀
⠀
Having just turned up asbestos glue under the tile in my sister's 1960's addition, all I can think is that this is a professional remediation job waiting to be paid for.⠀
⠀
Then there are the swing-out, manual shed doors, that you not only have to open by hand, but you have to make sure to park the car back far enough to open them! ⠀
⠀
Also, how gloriously california-modernism, impractical of the artist to draw a little overhang to cover the spot where you stand to open the shed door (garage door openers were NOT a thing) but then make it just a briese soliel!?! That wouldn't fly here in the midwest. ⠀
⠀
HT @amandasheldonsk for the wild blast from the past image!⠀
⠀
And, in case I wasn’t clear ... please do not build a garage out of asbestos sheeting. Anyone out there having to deal with asbestos in their MCM home? Wave your hands!⠀

EVERY DAY I COUNT MY BLESSINGS::

I so often think to myself, "How did I get so lucky in life, to connect with the people that I have?!"

Having a business has been no exception. If I haven't said it lately, please accept my sincere gratitude for your support. There is nothing too small, know that I see you + appreciate it ALL! 🙏

♡ Through allowing me to serve you in the studio or online boutique the past couple years

♡ I've met SO many amazing people through social media, from around the globe. Near or far every interaction is cherished. Be-it sharing our challenges, checking in, or cheering for each other. A big world feels smaller when we come together as humans.

♡ Engagement such as likes, saves, shares, comments, posting/tagging after purchases + services...it matters a heap let me tell you! I don't care about vanity metrics but these help get the word out. It's no longer a world of organic reach but algorithms. It is what it is, I'm on the platform, so I'm not going to complain 😁

♡ Your 5⭐ reviews on Google + Facebook and word of mouth are HUGE for this solopreneur, tucked away off the beaten path. I can't thank you enough-it is the greatest compliment when you feel confident in sharing me with others.

♡ This one seems like a distant memory in some ways, but just simple in-person connections. Chats about life, dreams and everything in between. I have a pretty good memory 😉 so even if our paths crossed many years ago you've stuck with me.

When times are good, they're good...but when there are the inevitable troughs + challenges, these things ⬆️ are what we cling to, to sustain us to keep going.

I know that none of this here would be possible without you. I thank you from the bottom my mushy heart
