Have you ever caught yourself having fatphobic thoughts about another fat person?

I have. Regularly. And I say that as someone who makes a podcast arguing that fatphobia ruins lives.

Believing something doesn’t stop the reflex. It just means you notice it happening.

Now you can change your body, do you still have to love it? A new episode of @amatteroffatpod on what happened to body positivity is out now, link in bio.

The best thing I did this year was invite myself to something I hadn't been invited to.

Swipe for the whole story. Did I ever think I'd make a podcast? Nope. Am I glad I did? Yes! Would I like to be paid at some point? Also yes.

If you're sitting on something and you've decided you're too old, it too late or too busy for it: tell me what it is in the comments. I will almost certainly tell you to do it.

Feels a bit weird announcing this BUT...in the interest of transparency and because quite a few of you have asked: here's where I'm at.

If you've come off, or you're thinking about it, tell me how it went. It's the bit nobody writes about and I've spent weeks scrolling Reddit for other people's versions of it.

Keeping an audio diary I am hoping to share in season two of @amatteroffatpod — watch this space! 👀

Several thin women have said a version of this to me quietly, then immediately apologised for it.

They didn't need to.

Swipe for why — and for why not saying it out loud is making things worse for everyone, including them.

If you've felt it, from either side, tell me. Nobody's getting shouted at in these comments! Not on my watch.

More on all of this on @amatteroffatpod episode 4 with @gilesyeo. Link in bio.

A chronically overweight women's health journalist and a world-renowned obesity expert walk into a bar — and record 8 episodes about it.

I've learned a lot from @gilesyeo over the past few months and he would say he's learned a lot from me too. This is, in my opinion, where the magic of the podcast is: in bringing together audiences and perspectives that don't always get to sit down and listen to one another (and won't always agree).

I've written about this for @telegraph this week, and specifically what Giles has taught me about weight and obesity. The greatest gift he has given me is the permission to finally let myself off the hook for the years I've spent trying to lose weight when the odds were stacked against me. When I thought my whole value as a person was defined by this one thing my body seemed to struggle with compared with others.

If you have, like me, spent years blaming yourself and want permission to let yourself off the hook then welcome, you're in the right place.

@amatteroffatpod is out now! Episodes one and two are live on Apple, Spotify and YouTube, with new episodes arriving every Tuesday.

We hope you feel seen and learn something. Most of all, we hope it helps you judge yourself and others a little bit less.
