FLASHBACK FRIDAY — IBIZA ☀️🌴 A little throwback to shooting some Amber Maxwell content in Ibiza with my beautiful friend @siltesis … and apparently forgetting how to behave like a normal human the second the camera was pointed at me. 😂 For those who know me, you’ll know I can be incredibly confident and outgoing but also a delicate little flower who is a funny little mix of extrovert and introvert. Put me out in the world, living my life, and I’ll happily take a million photos. Tell me we’re doing an actual photoshoot and suddenly I tense up, overthink EVERYTHING and have absolutely no idea what to do with my body. 😂 Thankfully Silvana knew exactly how to handle me… including demonstrating how ridiculously tense I was and trying to teach me how to RELAX. 😂🤍 But looking back at this made me think about confidence. We sometimes assume confident people feel confident all the time. We don’t. Confidence can exist right alongside nerves, awkwardness, self-doubt and vulnerability. Sometimes confidence is simply being willing to feel all of those things and doing it anyway. And I think that’s something worth remembering, you don’t have to wait until you feel completely fearless or completely ready to show up. Sometimes you just need a good friend making you laugh behind the camera. 😂🤍 Keep moving. Keep shining. Ibiza → Hamburg → Australia and everywhere in between 🌍🤍 Looking back through some of my favourite @ambermaxwellofficial looks since I first started launching this collection in Ibiza, I realised just how much of this journey I never really shared. It’s funny looking back at photos because people only ever see a moment. They rarely know everything that was happening behind it. The last few years have challenged me in ways I haven’t spoken much about, and somewhere along the way I lost some of the confidence I once had to share and celebrate the things I was creating and achieving. But lately I’m looking back at these moments differently. Instead of focusing on everything that was difficult around them, I’m starting to see everything I actually did. Different countries. Countless hours of work. Creating and launching collections. Pop-ups. Workouts. Music. Adventures. Starting again. Taking chances. Learning some lessons the hard way. And a lot of figuring things out along the way. 😂 But probably the most beautiful part has been the people. This little brand has connected me with so many incredibly beautiful people from all around the world, customers, community, collaborators and people who have become genuine friends. 🤍 And that’s something I’m really proud of. I think sometimes we become so focused on where we’re going, or what was happening behind the scenes, that we forget to stop and recognise how far we’ve already come. So I’m trying to do a little more of that. Embrace the journey. Celebrate the bloody hard work. Be proud of what you’ve created. Sydney lately 🇦🇺🤍 This trip was a lot of things. Exciting, emotional, inspiring, challenging and at times pretty overwhelming. There were some incredible highs: launching our new Core Collection, City2Surf, reconnecting with the community, training, creating, spending time with family and friends and being back around so many familiar faces. But behind the highlights, there were also some difficult moments. Life isn’t always exactly what you see in the photos, and this trip reminded me that sometimes the happiest moments can exist alongside some of the hardest ones. I didn’t manage to see everyone I wanted to see. At times I found myself keeping my circle quite small and taking some space to process everything that was happening around me. And that’s okay. What I am leaving this trip with is a huge appreciation for community, friendship, family, movement, creativity and the people who make you feel like yourself. Sometimes life doesn’t give you all the answers at once. You just keep moving forward, listening to yourself and figuring things out along the way. A few moments from a very full couple of weeks. 🤍 A huge thank you to Jade and the team over @thedepotbondi for the awesome collaboration and for always making my time at home a well spent one with their delicious food and coffee! Recently, I received a comment that made me pause. “Do you really need to wear all the activewear with your name on it? Shouldn’t you wear some normal clothes?” Followed by the suggestion that I was “too old” to wear activewear with logos. For a moment, I thought about it. In the past, comments like that probably would have stayed with me much longer. But this time I took a breath, accepted that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and reminded myself: Someone else’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your opinion of yourself. And strangely enough, the timing couldn’t have been better. I recently came back to Australia to launch our new Core Collection, including our new Amber Maxwell branding, alongside #city2surf and @thedepotbondi . We had both our existing Activate Collection and new Core Collection available and guess which sold the strongest? The new Core Collection. Logos and all. 🤍 When I first launched Amber Maxwell activewear in 2020, I deliberately didn’t want prominent logos. I wanted pieces that could move between training and everyday life, activewear for every day & every way. But the brand has evolved. And so have I. I built this chapter of Amber Maxwell from the floor of my apartment in Hamburg during lockdown, with my two cats beside me, after having to close the previous chapter of my business and start again. What started as activewear became something much bigger because of the women wearing it. Over the years, women have shared stories with me about losing their confidence, navigating difficult relationships, becoming mothers, struggling with their health or hormones, or simply trying to find the motivation to get up and start moving again. What a massive CTY2URF 2026 We’ve now hosted, fed and hydrated runners for 18 years, and for us it’s always been about the community the families, supporters and familiar faces. Huge thanks to everyone who came out today and to everyone who dropped into our recovery station at Bondi Beach Public School, helping raise money for the local P&C. A classic Bondi day.
