A massive shoutout to the RLG team for making Sunday morning one for the books!

It started with an experience many girls know all too well💗

The unwanted comments, the cat calling, and the feeling of being uncomfortable, simply for walking or running in public.

We experienced this ourselves and that’s what inspired us to create run like a girl Colombo!

To create a community where girls can come together more freely support One another and feel like they belong🎀

Because running should be about the freedom to move the joy of showing up for yourself and the community you find along the way!

And tomorrow we take that first step together☺️

Kavishka's Colombo Run, I'm still speechless‼️

This was better than I expected and I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for showing up for something bigger than just a run.

A special thank you goes to the amazing sponsors that backed me to make this happen.
The fantastic team behind the scenes that connected everything together. @saseni__weerasinghe @yazidn__ @alisonwijemanne @ameena.musthapha @neeshwck @serendipity.eventslk You were incredible. @chad_stergram
You were an amazing mascot and you stole the show with a cuteness overload.

To everyone who helped promote this event, I'll never forget you. And of course @tailsoffreedomsl My heart was so full to see a huge and beautiful turnout coming together to support what you do. What your team does is truly amazing.

What better way to celebrate my 30th Birthday. Let's do this again next year 🫶🏼

Some of you met August at Kavishka’s Colombo Run and asked about her story, so we wanted to share it. ❤️

Six years ago, August was a tiny, weak Great Dane puppy who had been advertised for sale at just three weeks old. When her breeder couldn't find anyone willing to buy her, he eventually begged us to take her because he couldn't afford to keep feeding her.

Today, August is safe, loved and very much at home at our Little Island Sanctuary.

But we couldn't bring her mother or the other animals at that breeding facility to safety. They had to remain behind, living in the same terrible conditions August had been rescued from.

And that's the part of her story that has never really left us.

August is one of the reasons Tails of Freedom exists. Her story is about more than one puppy who got lucky. It's about the countless animals who spend their lives in breeding facilities, and the suffering that so often remains hidden behind the puppies advertised for sale.

We cannot save every animal, but we can keep working towards a future where fewer animals have to endure what she did.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make that work possible. Every life we change matters. 💚🐾
