Well I guess the cat’s out of the bag. But, yes I recently had the honor of working with @bearnewcomb and @loren_moulton_media for a @meateater episode scheduled for 2027. What started as a friendly invite amongst traditional bowhunters evolved into a very fun and enlightening project. Check out the new @realbeargrease YouTube episode for some behind the scenes, in addition to the #bowyerpodcast. Big gratitude to P&D Hunts, @provenpursuit , @codyyy_anderson , @brokehoundhunter123 and the MeatEater folks for including me on the story. #Meateater #bearhunting #traditionalbowhunting #fellowship

What makes a hunt successful? A kill? A trophy? Food? Fellowship? Miles put on your boots? Sunrises and sunsets? Lessons learned? We all have our own perceptions of success, and I’d venture to say it can change depending on the season. Most of the time, all of the above are factors in the equation . Happy hunting ya’ll.

Another memorable year and a new personal record! After two long days in the timber, this bruiser skirted me late in the evening of the 2nd day without presenting a shot. He reappeared minutes before sunset, and after a tense standoff, he finally turned broadside at 10yds to gave me the opportunity I had waited for. Thanks to Barrett, Kaylee, and Mike for the assist in tracking and hauling him out of the swampy timber, and a huge thanks to Rob for all his work to make this bear hunt possible…couldn’t have done it without you brother. #bear #hunting #adventure #backcountry #outdoors

We have been vacuum sealing, freezing, thawing, cooking and eating our fall bears with fat caps since 2020. Meat and fat quality ultimately depends on the condition it is in when it goes into the bag and the quality of the vacuum seal. We’ve had bear in the freezer for up to 3 years that looked the same as when it went in! #wildgame #wildgamecooking #meatprocessing #butchering #beargrease
