Podium finishes are never about one race. They’re about every early morning, every lesson learned, every teammate who shows up, every volunteer who makes competition possible, and every person who believes in your journey before the results arrive. This past week at American Yacht Club, our team celebrated a 3rd-place finish in the Robie Pierce Open Regatta, following a 2nd-place finish at the Women’s Regatta just one day earlier. Every race is another step in our preparation for the @paraworldsailingofficial Sailing Championships in Portugal. A huge thank you to my phenomenal teammates, @igor_momot and @kay_vvv Van Bulckenburg, and to the incredible organizers Edward “Buttons” Padin and Siobhan Reilly. Your leadership, dedication, and passion help create opportunities that change lives through sport. We’re proud to be wearing @gillmarine gear, looking professional while training and competing at our best. To the race committee, officials, volunteers, organizers, and everyone working behind the scenes: thank you. Great events happen because of extraordinary people. With gratitude for the organizations and individuals who continue to support this journey: • @sailcanada / Voile Canada • @ontariosailing • @ablesailtoronto • @burke_rehab • @jeff_beitz.suzuki_canada @suzukicanada • @cafoundation • @captjanrobinson - Ship to Shore – Travel, Food & Charter Yacht Consultant Every finish line is really just another starting line. 2026 Spring Regatta. Day 1 welcomed sailors with calm and steady conditions, setting the tone for a beautiful start to the weekend. Day 2 tested everyone’s patience, with little to no wind across the course. Only one race was able to get underway, proving once again that sailing is always at the mercy of Mother Nature. But Day 3 was a completely different story... The final day brought the kind of breeze sailors dream about, more wind than anyone could have hoped for and the perfect conditions to close out an unforgettable three-day regatta. The racing was exhilarating from start to finish, with competitive fleets, exciting mark roundings, and an incredible energy on the water all day long. It was the perfect ending to an amazing weekend of sailing. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and competed, supported from shore, and helped make this event such a success. And of course, a special shoutout to Race Committee, whose hard work and dedication make weekends like this possible. We couldn’t do it without you. Stay tuned for more post.
