✨ From New York City to a National AI Learning Community

We’re proud to celebrate the successful launch of the first America On Tech (AOT) @americaontech AI Train-the-Trainer Academy: a four-day intensive designed to equip educators and community leaders across the country to bring AI literacy into their own communities.

Led by Rebecca Ambrose and Stanley Smith of America On Tech, the academy was facilitated by Cambio Labs’ Richard “D-Cal” Dacalos and Edwin Mauricio Olivera, bringing together participants from diverse educational backgrounds and levels of experience with AI.

Together, we created a learning experience grounded in critical thinking, metacognition, accessibility, and an understanding of how AI impacts different communities.

Cambio Labs was honored to help co-create this experience to move participants from curiosity about AI, towards real confidence and the practical readiness to teach it themselves.

AI literacy, like any tool of power, belongs in the hands of the people closest to the communities it will shape. [We’re excited to see where our collaboration will go!]

Jessica Santana, CEO and co-founder of America on Tech, speaking on the early intentions of @camelbackventures after being selected for the first cohort! To think about the level of intentionality at its inception, to where we are now, makes me excited for the upcoming cohort. Applications to join cohort 18 are open now through September 18. EcoPower ’26 officially has its people. 🥹🌱

Our Operators spent their first days getting into it fast. They are exploring how AI and tech can serve communities, digging into what community land ownership actually looks like, telling stories that matter, and starting to build projects that will be real and finished by the end of the summer.

These NYC high school and college students are not here to observe. They are here to work, get paid, and leave something behind. Watching them find their footing and start asking the right questions in week one? That is everything. ✊🏾

We could not be more thrilled to open these doors. This is what The Flats built. Come see what they are working on — September 3rd. 🔋
