Amir Syed was in his kitchen. His wife was scrolling Instagram. His own video came up. She swiped.

He asked why. She said, “It just didn’t sound really interesting.”

His takeaway: if my own wife is swiping, everybody’s swiping. So he studied the first three seconds.

Would you swipe your own reel?

Amir Syed: give them crayons, not calculus.

Say the gist in five to ten seconds. Do not worry about the detail you leave on the table. Then end with one ask.

A CTA is a call to action, like “smash follow.” A CTC is a call to conversation, like “which one stood out to you?”

Crayons or calculus. Which one are you?

Amir Syed says most loan officers are on a 30-year interest-only schedule.

They show up when they feel like it. They stay busy. And at the end of a career they have no principal paid down.

At GO! he puts people on a five-year amortization schedule instead. You show up every day. You make the payment.

How many reps did you make this week?

Amir Syed says you get three seconds to hook someone. Then you have to hold them until second eight.

How? With a re-hook. Say something big up front. Then say something that makes them stay. Hook. Re-hook. Hook. Re-hook.

What is your re-hook?

Amir Syed is back on The Way. He took his Instagram from 45,000 to 80,000 followers in 35 days.

In this one he shows the whole reel. A hook in the first three seconds. A re-hook by second eight. Crayons, not calculus. And an ending that asks for one thing.

Full episode is live now.

What is the one thing you would change in your next reel?

Some rooms make you better just by being in them.

The Go Coaching Reserve was one of those,

Amir Syed, thank you for what you’ve built.

A room full of loan officers who push each other, cheer for each other, and hold each other to a higher standard.

That’s what Jason and I are building at Empower Home Loans.

We didn’t bring these notes home to sit on a shelf.

They go straight to our team this week, because what we learn only matters if it reaches the people we lead.

If you’re an LO who wants to be in a room like that every week, not just once a year, let’s talk.

4️⃣ No existe mercado malo.

There’s no sniff test needed here, folks. 🐐

Amir Syed, you are the Michael Jordan of mortgage coaching. If you want to be the best, you have to surround yourself with the best.

Attending The Reserve with GO! Coaching has me feeling like I’m playing Mario Kart and just hit the star. ⭐️ Full speed. Fired up. Ready for what’s next. “Leveling up” is an understatement.

Amir, hearing your story and where you started, what you’ve overcome, and how this community came to life made being here even more meaningful.

You’ve built something incredible. A room full of people who challenge each other, cheer for each other, and push each other to become better.

After nearly 25 years in this business, I’m still hungry. Still learning. Still investing in myself. And having a mentor like you in my corner means more than you know.

Always have a mentor. Always be a mentor to someone else. Take what you learn and help the next person rise. That’s how you keep greatness moving.

Thank you for setting the bar, leading with integrity, and pouring so much into all of us. Cheers to a friendship I feel incredibly lucky to have, my man. 🤝

Who you surround yourself with matters. And I love the room I’m in. 🔥
