👀 spotted: three @ucbazaad alums, one @bestofthebestdancecomp 2011 overall winner trophy 🏆, and a #bestofthebest @netflix film viewing in bear territory...

15 years later, and the memories do seem to last a lifetime @hasanminhaj 🤩

in honor of #BestOfTheBest dropping on @netflix today… we’re dropping our very own @bestofthebestdancecomp 2011 winning routine from NYC, along with a few other @ucbazaad 1 & 2 gemssss 🥹✨

it’s pretty surreal to see so much of what made our dance team years so special — the garage practices, the late nights, the competitions, the friendships, the heartbreaks, the wins, and the memories — poured into a film that’s going to reach audiences around the world.

we were just college kids dancing our hearts out, building something from the ground up, and finding our people along the way. 💛

so proud of what @ucbazaad became, and even prouder that this South Asian American college dance team experience is being celebrated on a much bigger stage.

and honestly… if it weren't for this team, our continued love for dance and @doctorswhodance probably wouldnt exist 🥹

so much love to the entire circuit, everyone who made those years unforgettable, and to all the dancers who continue to carry this culture forward. ✨

@alexander_noel_janam brought his magic to the bay area on his USA tour, and it was 1 of 1 ⚡️

current thoughts:
• he is an UNREAL, and versatile dancer (hiphop, classical, contemp- you name it)
• his choreography is sooo damn musical
• not to mention a phenomenal teacher, breaks down complex steps in such tangible ways
• southie famm 🫶🏽
• he rejuvenates your love for dance- so i cant wait to get back to my own drawing board 🥹

full kantha class video coming soon!! 🌹

Last weekend we got to attend the premiere of @hooplikethis in LA - an amazing documentary about the @brownballers and their resilience as ground breaking South Asian professional basketball players. 👏🏾

It was so cool to see @gokuln_ featured in the story… including a shoutout from Jeremy Lin @jlin7 and the Taiwan days. Hats off to the whole team, especially director Shubhangi Shekhar 🎬 and GM Gautam Kapur @gautamgkapur !!!

Next up the SF premiere - Saturday, May 9 at AMC Kabuki Theater!
