Hoy en #HeimTextil2026 el mensaje fue claro: "el diseño no se limita a una única estética".

Y desde ahí, todo cobra sentido.

Las tendencias no llegan solas, se adaptan al consumidor. En el set de conocimiento las superficies imperfectas y materiales con acabados sutiles permiten generar un concepto de fragmentación como una oportunidad para evocar lo único y lo sensible a la vez. [ Tomado de charla ]

El diseño de luminarias con 6 diseñadores x @biofilia.material lo hace visible: la naturaleza apropiándose del objeto, en combinación con experimentaciones morfológicas y biomateriales.

Y luego está lo micro como punto de partida de lo modular, jugar, explorar y combinar. Código Origen @cuerpos.ia lo demuestra con patrones que generan una diversidad de efectos bordados y automatizados.

Bueno y ahora sí, desde acá empezando a contarles algo de lo vivido desde el lunes y hasta mañana en la semana del diseño de Milán @milan.design.week .

Como siempre en mi caso, en mi recorte favorito: mix de artesanía, craft, diseño joven y Latinoamericana siempre

Así que empiezo por el Satellite @isaloniofficial , el diseño sub 35, donde charlotee con diseñadores de mi país 🇦🇷 @santiorionte @amuni.studio @schiano.design @orionte_studio @fiumine , escuelas latinoamericanas @ransesv y el espacio curador por el venezolano @rodolfoagrella sobre Neo artesanía , entre muchos otros.

Well, and now I’m starting to tell you about what I’ve experienced from Monday until tomorrow at the Milan Design Week @milan.design.week
As always in my case, in my favourite selection: a mix of craft, young design and Latin American always.

So I started with the Satellite @isaloniofficial the under 35 , where I chatted with designers from my country , Latin American schools and the space curated by the Venezuelan @rodolfoagrella about Neo craft, among many others.

Our next instructor highlight is Dominic Montante, an acclaimed industrial designer and founder of the nomadic studio Amunì. His career began at Umbra in Canada, designing housewares and even an instrument. With experience spanning startups, corporate roles, consulting, and freelancing, Dominic has worked on toys, furniture, medical devices, beauty products, and electronics. He collaborates closely with engineers and manufacturers, often taking on technical roles himself, and finds the most exciting part of design is holding a finished product straight from the factory.

Many academic programs overlook a crucial aspect of industrial design—manufacturing. While student projects are often creative, they may lack the practical understanding needed to bring a product to market. This course bridges that gap by covering manufacturability across materials like plastics, metals, glass, ceramics, and wood. Students will also explore regulations, patents, packaging, and cost considerations, culminating in the creation of simulated vendor documentation.

Had such a blast this past week in Chicago for Advanced Design’s SquareOne conference! It was amazing to finally connect with so many talented individuals I’ve known virtually since 2020. This has definitely informed my capstone and how I will be moving forward with creating tools for designers. More to come. Till next time, friends 🙂
