Introducing the 1st Attendant to Miss ASA, Miatta Harris! ✨

Miatta is a Junior Political Science major with a Sociology minor and Pre-Law concentration at Spelman College, with aspirations of pursuing a career in law and public service. A proud Gio girl, hailing from Liberia 🇱🇷 , Miatta carries a deep connection to her heritage and a strong desire to contribute to the continued growth and development of her country and communities.

Her platform, LAW & Order, focuses on restoring balance and structure within African Diasporic communities. LAW represents Leadership, Advancement, and Wisdom, encouraging us to lead by example, uplift our communities through education, and understand our history so we can create meaningful change. Order represents the balance and structure needed to turn those efforts into lasting impact.

Through her role, Miatta hopes to empower her peers, promote civic and political education, and inspire young people to recognize their ability to lead and create change within their communities. Ultimately, she hopes to use her education, leadership, and future career in law and public service to create meaningful change not only in her community, but in Liberia as well. 🤍

Job 5:2 - “Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple.”
For God has blessed me with an opportunity that might come once in this my life, I am forever indebted to the Lord above as I thank him first for placing my faith in him.
An exceptional Nakupenda to all of my pageant siblings. To Shannon, Lency, Jullienne, Kojo, Nosa, Alpha, Vic, Rob, and Miatta, I really couldn’t have made it through without each one of y’all! You all pushed me to become a better man, a better performer and an even better friend. It is in my heart that you are all special and each filled with great strengths that will carry us over to the triumphs and turbulences of the world of tomorrow. Believe in the best, and in the indisputable fact that the very best is contained within ourselves!
To Joel, Erokamano for everything you have done for me through my time in the AUC. I don’t believe I would be where I am if it wasn’t for meeting you in our Chemistry lab long ago and far away.
To my pageant directors and audacious ASA family, I deeply admire the love that you have for this organization of ours and how it is reflected in the drive shown in pushing us to be the best versions of ourselves in the quest to represent Umoja ASA as well as we are capable of.
I am grateful to show off my passion for fashion and history with the help of Judy and Amira. You both agreed to come on and make magnificent magic with what seemed to be just so short of a time. Special shoutout to Khalik, Kennedy, and Che for helping produce a great talent! To my friends and family in the extraordinary AUC, I thank you for all the encouragement given. The messages and help I received through this process reminded me that even when I I am by myself, there are always people who support me and wholeheartedly seek the best of my dreams. To my entire family and friends back home in Texas, Kenya, and beyond, I love you all as I showcased our culture and what it means to have pride in where we are from. To Mommy, I love you so much and am grateful you raised me so well. Thank you as well, Daddy, Sidney, and Maya!
At the end of the day, I am proud for competing to the finish line. The bell does not just toll… 🇰🇪

Before I say anything, I just want to thank Allah (SWT). None of this would be possible without the will He gives me every day to keep showing up better than I was before. Alhamdulillah for the strength to finish what I started and for the best of planners who guided my steps to this very moment.

Starting out in this pageant process, I wasn’t sure who I’d become. To be honest, I wasn’t always sure how to fully express my culture. knew who I was, but I didn’t always know how to voice it. However, being planted in a community that cares so deeply changed everything for me. Along the way, I became stronger, more disciplined, and more confident in the impact that I carry. This experience truly stretched me, humbled me, and allowed me to grow into a version of myself I’m proud of—one who works to link lineage with leadership.

I want to thank my pageant directors for their unwavering love for this organization and for being such a guiding, positive source of motivation for me. I also want to thank the court that came before me; thank you for showing the way and for demonstrating what it truly means to lead an organization to new heights. I want to thank the organization of ASA and the judges for entrusting me with this role, one I will carry with honor, intention, and purpose.

To my pageant siblings, you all are the true reason I made it this far. The love I have for y’all runs so deep, and being able to connect with your unique personalities and character has been the greatest gift I’ve gained from this entire process. Y’all are truly like family, and what we built together is something I will carry with me far beyond this pageant. In a space where I was learning to find my voice, y’all gave me the courage to speak.

Thank you to my Fulani family back home and my friends in the AUC, thank you from seeing a crown on my head long before I ever knew how to wear it. Your belief in me is what has allowed me to find my footing.

I promise to wear this crown with grace, intention, and responsibility. This is bigger than me, and I’m ready to rise to the Occasion. The work truly starts now!

Sincerely,
Your 2026-2027 1st Attendant to Mr. ASA 🇬🇳🇸🇳🌍👑
