MONDAY MONITORING 🧍‍♂️🐆🐆something for wildlife

**Protecting Wildlife Through Responsible Dog Vaccination**

With the coordination of the **Kurseong Forest Division**, and in association with **Kurseong K9 NGO**, **Thejumbotroops** organised a **Parvovirus Vaccination Camp at Dow Hill, Kurseong**.

The vaccination programme was conducted under the supervision of **Dr. S. Bhutia (Veterinary Officer)**.

This initiative is not only about protecting domestic dogs—it is also about protecting the wildlife that shares this landscape with us.

**Canine Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially deadly disease.** Diseases carried by free-ranging or unvaccinated domestic dogs can pose a serious threat to wild carnivores through disease transmission.

Dow Hill is home to some **majestic wild carnivores**, making disease prevention an important part of wildlife conservation.

By keeping our domestic animals healthy and vaccinated, **we can create a safer environment for both communities and wildlife.**

**Healthy Dogs. Healthy Wildlife. A Safer Forest.** 🐕🌿🐆

🇬🇧 For the third time, SU4E is proud to welcome the amazing team of @hartnepal for a neutering and vaccination campaign targeting the street dogs around our sanctuary! 🐶💉

These campaigns are essential to control the street dog population and to prevent the spread of deadly diseases—especially important on the edge of Chitwan National Park, where domestic dogs can transmit infections to wildlife. 🐾🌿

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Amy Shroff and Let’s Save the Strays International, Ewa and Pawan from Begnas, and Julie Palais for their generous support of this initiative. Special thanks to Pawan and Sushmita who offered to have HART team to stay in their hotel for free 🙏

💙 If you’d like to support HART’s important work, please visit their website or social media to donate. Stay connected—we will soon share updates on how the campaign went!

🙏 Un grand merci à Amy Shroff et Let’s Save the Strays International, Ewa et Pawan de Begnas, ainsi qu’à Julie Palais pour leur soutien précieux à cette campagne.

💔 What Breaks Your Heart?

A limping dog searching through rubble.
A mother cat shielding her kittens in the ruins of Mandalay.
No shelter. No food. No clean water.

This is what breaks our hearts.

After the earthquake, our Myanmar team stayed.
With only three walls left of our clinic, we set up outdoors.
We’re treating animals for trauma, vaccinating against rabies, and feeding anyone we can — animals and people alike.

We are the only nonprofit on the ground doing this work.
Because love doesn’t walk away.

🐾 If this breaks your heart too, please help.

Exciting News! 🐝🌿

After completing our honey bee farming training, we have officially started honey bee farming as part of alternative farming and a bee hive fence pilot project at Nandalal village!

Last night, we successfully transported 4 boxes of honeybees from Bisnu Tamang's farm, marking the beginning of this initiative.

This project aims to promote sustainable farming while also exploring the effectiveness of bee hive fences in human-wildlife conflict mitigation.

Stay tuned for updates as we work towards a greener and more harmonious future! ✨

Just Follow the Herd

One of the biggest challenges we face outside forest areas is when elephants pass through villages and tea fields. But from years of field experience, one thing has become clear—elephants are intelligent enough to find their own way.

They need nothing from us. No interference, no disturbance.

All we need to do is follow them.

The lead mother knows the safest route. She knows how to guide her herd away from danger. If we simply follow and ensure they are not disturbed, conflict can be avoided.

Let’s learn to coexist. Let’s trust nature’s wisdom.
