Hi Felix,

Here’s a “Sandwich time” except I the camera never got a bite.

Happy birthday to Anna! She did a crazy rat gathering and we tried Remy’s strawberry cheese combo from the movie. It was really good.

Went camping for the second time! I feel like I haven’t really gotten to appreciate what I live so close to. I’m glad I got to go with these friends.

Anson and Michelle got a new place and we had a meal on the bare floor. Before any furniture and before it was mopped. I feel like this is a must when you get a new place. I’m so happy for them. Huge milestone.

A few other things happened this month. Saw the persieds again. Shot some bees up close. Received a photobook from Bryan!

Momentum man. It’s so real. One half, I felt like I knew exactly what I was supposed to do, and the next, I’m back where I started. These are just a collection of clips from the month. Mostly just the good. A lot of the bad isn’t worth mentioning but not in a way I need to forget them. Just not as important right now.

Funny thing, this is exactly how I’d used to write to myself at the end of every month. A part of me hopes that no one reads the whole caption but I know that some of you will. I’ve usually kept these type of entries to myself but I like to capture a bit of my life before I get too old to actually remember what it all looked like.

Reminder/PSA that my work is being featured in the “Good Grief” exhibition in Victoria BC / Turtle Island at the Ministry of Casual Living until May 30. If you’re passing by or in town, it’s such a heartfelt place for reflection and dissecting grief as simple or multi-layered, as sadness or anger.

It’s not everyday you get to be at an exhibition with your bestie @amyjylu I have her to thank for encouraging me to apply to this open call. I included some photos of making this piece as I was processing the grief of the passing of my grandfather.

I want to thank all of the folks @ministryofcasualliving for hosting this exhibition. They handled my work so carefully and showed clear dedication to providing open access and enrichment to art in the community.

Most importantly, thank you to my grandpa. Yeung Sum-Kwong 杨森光.
I wouldn’t have anything today, if it wasn’t for the foundation he laid. He was the person to have immigrated to multiple countries, cities, and jobs seemlessly in pursuit of making the lives of those who he loved… better. I will follow in that memory.
