What if feeling better didnโ€™t require finding more time? I loved joining @amymorinauthor on Mentally Stronger to talk about Micropracticeโ€”14 science-backed practices for calm, clarity, and joy that take 30 seconds or less. We talked about 20-second self-compassion practices, tiny movement and breathing practices, and ways to weave well-being into moments already in your day. Micropractice is out October 6 and available wherever you buy books. Thank you, Amy, for such a thoughtful conversation. #Micropractice #MentalStrength #Wellbeing #Mindfulness #MentallyStronger

๐ŸŽง WORTH A LISTEN Every once in a while, we come across a conversation outside the dance world that immediately gets us thinking about what happens inside our studios. This episode of A Bit of Optimism with Simon Sinek and psychotherapist Amy Morin was one of them. Hard things happen. We donโ€™t want to brush past, ignore, or bury the feelings that come with them. But what happens next? How does the next choice โ€” and the next one, and the next one โ€” help us become more capable of navigating the next hard, disappointing, or frustrating thing that comes our way? And how can the dance studio be a place where young people get to practise that? Our dancers encounter these moments all the time: a correction thatโ€™s hard to hear, a skill that isnโ€™t coming easily, not getting the role they hoped for, a disappointing result, or a mistake onstage. As educators, we can help our students experience those feelings, make their next choice, and keep moving forward. Because dance can teach so much more than dance โ€” and the studio can be a place to practise skills theyโ€™ll carry far beyond it. ๐ŸŽง What Mentally Strong People Do on Their Worst Days โ€” A Bit of Optimism with Simon Sinek, featuring psychotherapist Amy Morin. How are you helping dancers practise moving through hard things in your studio?
