What a year it has been preparing for the 2026 New Student Convocation and watching our outstanding student speaker team provide a phenomenal experience for our incoming students!

It was truly a privilege to work alongside a dedicated committee and a phenomenal group of student leaders. Huge shoutout out to the full convocation committee for their execution of this event. A special shoutout and much love to our Programming Subcommittee for your commitment, creativity, and hard work in helping bring this experience to life.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey was watching our student speakers grow, develop, and gain the confidence to share their stories with our newest Ragin’ Cajuns. Their voices, experiences, and journeys have the power to inspire, encourage, and remind our incoming students that they, too, can find their place and make an impact on this campus.

This year, we also introduced a new tradition including golden acorn pins for our student speakers. Along with signing bricks that represent their participation and engagement with the program, the golden acorn pin serves as a symbol of their dedication, commitment, growth, and lasting impact.

To the student speakers, thank you! Thank you for sharing your stories, serving as an inspiration, and motivating the Ragin’ Cajun Class of 2026 as they begin their journey. Each of you has left your mark on our campus, our community, and, most importantly, on the students you welcomed into the Ragin’ Cajun family. ❤️🤟🏽

SOUL Camp Service Day 2, Recruitment Practice #2, Cajun Craze Day 2: Late Night in the U! Friday was FULL of community, connection, and Cajun spirit!

We kicked off the day with our SOUL Camp service project and bringing our painted design to life! A huge thank you to Hub City Diner once again for their generous donation that helped us purchase painting supplies, and to Courtney Jeffries and Amy Windsor for showing up bright and early to help sketch the design and get everything ready! Then it was on to Recruitment Practice #2 before wrapping up Cajun Craze Day 2 with Late Night in the U! ❤️🤍🤟🏼

In 2025, I was so blessed to lose myself and what was never mine and to find myself and the power to let go. I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store ✈️
