Curated by @lumit⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ sidony o’neal (Portland) is a conceptual artist and writer whose practice uses ideas from mathematics, computing, and industrial fabrication  to examine how systems of knowledge become material. For the 2026 C45 Triennial, o’neal presents a new iteration of their TANP D’ÆR/SPLINE + ELEGY   installation at Black-led music club Barn Radio, using perforated Tyvek to create an architectural surround for an ambient sound piece composed by Adee Roberson, DJ sets, and movement work by #keyongaskin . Based on the molecular structure of an insecticide associated with the 1940 Natchez Rhythm Club fire, the perforated design eulogizes histories of racialized harm and transforms them into space for healing.  Ido Radon is a Portland artist and writer whose work uses modular construction and prototyping to examine how technology and engineering organize daily life. Her Triennial project at the Center for Contemporary Art at  PNCA, Men make their own history…, is an installation of sculptural forms abstracted from the games of chess and Chutes and Ladders. Constructed from vintage Erector sets, these re-composable structures treat the games’ opposing logics of strategy and chance as a way

in my first for @friezeofficial, i reviewed the 2026 portland @converge_45 triennial, curated by @lumit. so much appreciation for my editor @seepackard for the opportunity, and eternal props to one of the sci-fi 🐐🐐🐐, ursula k. le guin, whose truly experimental novel "always coming home" inspired the citywide exhibition's curatorial themes. swipe through for some additional documentation by @mariogalluccistudio.

Wildly overdue BTS and beyond of an incredible opening weekend and month of install for my exhibition “Here, to you, now” @converge_45 in August 📆 🌞🍐🦦🏞️ Far too many people to thank and IG only lets me tag 20– but the absence of photo evidence hopefully doesn’t diminish the incredible work, spirit, and commitment it took to get to this place from 28 artists, 16 partner sites and staffs, countless volunteers, probably not enough technicians and the Converge45 board. Executive and Artistic Director Amanda Donnan @asiseeityes and Operations Manager Ilsa Payne were (and continue to be!) the superglue across every level. 🫂🫂🫂 Thank you Portland for coming out in support of community members old and new, for being so beautiful, for keeping it very real, for feeding me so well, and for embracing my ideas for the past two years. There are more programs to come- but still savoring these memories for awhile 🍃🍃🍃 First image is keyon gaskin’s (wisely not on IG) performance at Barn Radio with sidony o’neal’s installation. 🎪What an amazing experience performing in and assistant directing Amy Ruhl’s OTHER SPACES with @lu_yim ! Collaboration is deeply moving! Being in and apart of developing intimacies, working relationships, imperfect organizations, and new communities is the stuff of life! I learned so much. If you plan ahead, you can also catch @amyruhl’s Other Spaces, an immersive, panoramic video installation with inflatable sculptures inspired by an incarcerated character in Ursula K.
