Our second The Glow Social event was just as lovely as we imagined… 🥹🎀

AUTHENTIC TAPAS IN THE HEART OF ANCOATS

David and Jorge are two chefs who feel like they’ve always been destined to work with one another.

They kept crossing each others’ paths in various Spanish restaurants, before they decided to fulfil some long-held dreams and open a restaurant together. @canpetit_ - a welcoming, modern tapas restaurant in Ancoats with a name that roughly means ‘little house’.

The menu is full of well-executed favourites like tortilla and patatas bravas and various croquetas. There are also more elaborate creations, like sardines with a fresh coconut and almond sauce, and mini oxtail sandwiches. The menu changes regularly, so there's always something new to try.

Paella is a big deal too, with David having grown up attending paella-cooking competitions with his family. They don’t cut any corners with process either, cooking everything from scratch every time. The showstoppers are a black ink variety topped with prawns and one topped with a whole Iberica pork pluma.
It’s authentic, delicious and really reasonably priced. We highly recommend seeking it out.

Golden hour over New Islington Marina last night. Went for a walk to see if I could get some good reflections. Turns out it was too breezy.
The geese and swans were being chased by a puppy which also added to the water movement somewhat. Puppy 1 Pond life 0
