“Memories are timeless treasures of the heart.” August tends to be a time of reflection for me. My baby sister was born in this month and I find that as I grow older, I’m missing her more and more. Her name was Gina and she was an actual LIGHT! She was always showering those around her with Love AND she was well loved! She was an actress and a beautiful singer who pursued her dreams and passions vigorously! I was always so proud of her accomplishments and admired her greatly. Gina, you are still a light to me and I can’t wait to see your little angel face in Heaven! Big shoutout to my beautiful friends and collaborators Itziar @and_.styles and Christine @i.tear.paper for the Good Things Zine this year! You two are such a Blessing and a Joy to me! I LOVE you! Cece💕 NOTE: This was supposed to be a pocket insert but I fell in love with this black and white pinstriped paper and didn’t want to cover it up! I’ll have another chance to create a pocket card (or something) in November so I’ll see how that goes… #GoodThingsZine2026 #collage #zine #memories #missingyou

“My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.” Hank Aaron July was all about Baseball and Birthdays! One Saturday we (my mom and I) went to a birthday party for our dear friend who turned 90 and my great nephew who turned 1. Such an amazing day celebrating both ends of life while wishing for MORE in the future. Life is a gift! My mom is the biggest sports fan (man or woman) that I know. Stats, college history, family. She needs to be a color commentator! It’s so nice to have good things to focus on as challenges keep rolling in. This is what keeps my spirits up and gives me hope that things will get better one day at a time. What good things give you hope? Keep your head to the sky! Love you! Cece NOTE: I’m so fortunate and blessed to have the support of my dear friend Itziar @and_.styles as a collaborator this year. Her insight, wisdom and creative energy has been such a blessing to me! Please go and follow her page for her brilliant art and ideas! #GoodThingsZine2026 #collage #zine #birthday #baseball

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” James Baldwin Time is marching on so quickly and June has arrived with its charm and challenges! I found myself a little burnt out from all of my creative activities from the prior months so June was very laid back and not very productive. July might just be the same but we’ll see. Juneteenth was a time of reflection and deep contemplation that hits close to home. A lot of my ancestors were affected by the “late news” that they had been freed 2 years prior to the announcement. I still don’t know how I feel about that. So I just sit with it around this time of year, grateful for the resilience and strength of my family that I carry with me. That’s definitely a Good Thing. June is also the month that we celebrate Father’s Day. My dad is in Heaven waiting for me so that brings me peace and happiness. I see all of the wonderful fathers in my family and it warms my heart. Life goes on and it’s beautiful! I hope you are finding the Good in your life and celebrating it! Small things count so keep gathering them because each one builds Hope.🥰💕 Sending Love, Cece #GoodThingsZine2026 #goodthings #zine #Godisgood #positivethinking

April flowers bring May flowers!🩵🫧🌸💕 I just LOVE this season! Blue skies, white puffy clouds, colors bursting! It’s glorious!☺️ May was chocked full of SO many Good Things that my reflection of it spreads a smile on my face! Here are a few highlights… ~ Good news about my mom and her chemo treatments! She still has to have them but less frequently. I believe God is healing her and I’m excited to see how this new regimen pans out🙏🏽💕 ~ Mother’s Day is in May and I enjoyed celebrating my mom extra special the whole week leading up to it! I do LOVE my Mama!🩷🍋🌸🍃 ~ I joined the #mymerakiatagaday Challenge and had SO much fun!🤩 This challenge stretches me and gets me thinking outside of the box! I had too many projects this month so I did get behind in the end but I plan to finish this week! ~ Our church has a big carnival every May to celebrate the end of our youth program for the school year. I love helping out and making signs for the event. Last year I made 2 signs and this year I made 12! Lots of fussy cutting including about 345 letters! Big project but always FUN! ~ I went to a beautiful memorial event for a dear friend who was like a grandmother to me. My niece and her mom created a beautiful garden for our Nan and we all stood in it and released purple balloons into the air in remembrance.🕊️ I loved making these floral journaling cards from an old calendar that I had. They look like a bouquet in my pocket pouch that I will insert into my zine! So tell me something Good about your month of May! Love you! Cece😘 #goodthingszine2026 #goodthings #hearts #positivethinking

🎶Count your blessings name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done.🎶 I just ear-wormed myself! I’ll be singing this song all week!🤭 WOW! April flew by so quickly! SO many Good Things happening to be grateful for! ~ My mom has been off treatment for 3 months in order to have cataract surgery and she’s been feeling GREAT! She’s even back to driving! It’s so wonderful to see her so happy and energetic! ~ I was in a group collaboration to alter a magazine into a journal and it was SO fun getting to know everyone better! Also enjoyed learning a lot from these talented ladies. ~ It was my Golden Birthday (born in 1963 and turned 63 years old)!🎉🥳🥳🥳 I think I was more excited to hit the Golden occasion than getting a year older!🤭 ~ It was my nephew Jules 5th Birthday and we had a wonderful time with family and friends celebrating his Awesomeness! The theme of the party was WWE but he’s also into Pokémon.🥳🥳🥳 What were some of YOUR Good Things in April? Share in comments!😍😍😍 Keep your eyes open for the Good Things Y’all! March. In like a Lion and out like a Lamb… (I think the Lion ate the lamb😬) I was thinking about the color green all month and enjoying it slowly popping up all around me. The leaves growing with a promise of new growth and blooming to come. I’m so looking forward to that.🌷🍃 We had two family birthdays and one family member Homegoing. One new little baby family member who is overcoming some medical challenges in a miraculous way! God is SO Good! We also went to a baby shower for another little one arriving very soon and we are so excited about that! The shower was delightful with so many young mothers and children running all around! It’s always a blessing to see life BLOOMING around us! I n the midst of all of this, I got some time to create! That’s my JOY! Sometimes it’s 1 or 2 am but it’s a time for me to free my mind and have some fun. One day I’ll sleep again…😏 March also presented some creative challenges and I learned some hard lessons. Relationships/projects that didn’t work out and being let go from a job that I was struggling to figure out. But I’m at peace and excited for new doors that are already starting to open up. ⭐️✨ Whew! That was a LOT but if you’ve made it this far, leave some Good Things in the comments! I’d love to hear about what’s going on with you!🥰 And remember to stay positive and keep collecting those Good Things!💚🌷🍃 Love, Cece🥰😘 Note: Beautiful lady cut out from the Beautiful Vol 1 cut and collage book by Helena Cooper on Amazon. February, the month of LOVE, was FABULOUS with so many Good Things happening!! It’s amazing how Love just keeps showing up and filling our hearts and lives with JOY! I don’t really do a lot of writing in my journaling. I’m in the space to just let my art speak for me. In this video I do share some of the prompts that inspired my February Zine pocket and tags. My voice is a little scratchy so I hope you can understand everything. Thanks to my partner Itziar @and_.styles for her inspiration and fun ideas that added so much sweetness to our #goodthingszine2026 project.🩵🌼🌷🍃 Thank you for your encouragement and continued support. I hope you all are enjoying your zines! If you have any ideas or would like to see us do something, lets us know in the comments and we will check it out😊 Take care of yourselves and keep your eyes open for those Good Things! I’m loving this brilliant UPGRADE to my #GoodThingsZine2026! Itziar @and_.styles came up with the idea for this little booklet to journal inspirational words and quotes that may not fit into your zine page each month! I “found” this cool black and white paper with a fancy edge so I added pockets to the inside cover pages of my zine (front & back) just to tuck extra special goodies into my zine throughout the year. I save too many things! My booklet is made from a Jello gelatin box that I LOVED because it was pink!💕 The pink is on the inside of my booklet and I decorated the outside with some collaged tape that I recently made. I will zhuzh it UP a little more as we move forward☺️ Itziar and I had a full discussion about what to name our little booklet but didn’t land on any one of them yet. Maybe you can help us out! Leave some suggestions in the comments please!!! Remember, as we move along, this zine is ALL FOR YOU! We want to encourage you and give you ideas along the way but the final choices are yours so make it special just for YOU! You are worth it! I’m working on a little tutorial on how I made my booklet so keep your eyes peeled for that! Sending Love, Cece😘😘 #zine #upgrade #booklet #youreworthit
