This week’s sad news that the historic @granadatheater is closing its doors has me going down memory lane. One of my favorite memories is when @greenskybluegrass came to town and I slid @phoffmanmusic the Helping Friendly Book we were reading at the time and he picked it up and blind read from it on stage. Great stuff. 😄

We were reading “The Tao of Pooh”, Helping Friendly Book 13. Read it!

Thanks for all the mems Granada!

“Well, it’s been heaven. But even rainbows end. Now my sails are fillin’. And the wind’s so willin’. That I’m as good as gone again…”

We’ve got a big announcement coming for all the heads out there. Stay tuned. ⛵️☠️

There is an echo of gratitude that fills the space between memories and pictures, the place where the fog blends with the light, feet patter to the rhythm, and chords resonate under a worn-in tent.

@_ryanstonecowboy witnessed that exact moment and captured the feeling we all shared. As we look ahead to Foundy Fest #2 and dream about what’s next for our community, it’s images like these that give us the momentum to do it all again. ✨📷

Cheers y’all! Forever grateful!

Foundy Fest delivered an unforgettable night of high-energy roots music on October 3, 2026, bringing a powerful celebration of Appalachian grit and resilience to Foundy Street in Asheville, North Carolina’s River Arts District.

The absolute highlight of this one-night-only event was the performance by the Asheville Bluegrass Band. Far from an ordinary group, this was an all-star bluegrass supergroup packed with world-class talent, featuring:
Mike Bont and Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass
Jason Carter (the acclaimed Nashville-based fiddle player from The Del McCoury Band and The Travelin' McCourys)
Jon Stickley of the Jon Stickley Trio
Thomas Cassell (National Mandolin Champion)
Christian Ferri (upright bass from The Greenliners, The High Top Boys, Jon Stickley Ashgrass band, and Taste)

This powerhouse ensemble joined forces for an exclusive evening, blending traditional hard-driving bluegrass with expansive jamgrass improvisation. Organized by the female-led Leona Wild Collective, the festival also featured phenomenal sets from Holler Choir and The Local Honeys. It served as a massive community triumph and a mutual aid benefit supporting Western North Carolina’s local music scene and cultural recovery.
