Cadaver “…In Pains” (1992) This band totally flew under my radar and I’m so bothered that it’s taken me this long to discover this greatness. This is one of the more unique and captivating albums of that 2nd wave of death metal (my favourite stuff) and from probably my favourite year in death metal!! It’s also not that common for death metal to be released from Norway during this time so it’s great to hear some death metal from there. But man this trio of madness created something so unique. The guitar riffs on this album are so interesting, there’s a lot of stop and start types of riffing going on where it’ll start up, pause. Then continue and I fucking love it!! There’s a shit load of great tremolo picking riffs which are my favourite, they’re catchy and pure bliss to my ears. There’s a lot of intricacies in these riffs too that are so different in terms of the ways that these riffs are structured. One of my favourite riffs from this album is the start of “Into the outside” because it reminds me of “From skin to liquid” by CC my fav instrument ever… it’s got that creepy vibe and it flows so fucking smoothly and sounds so wicked and deranged. I think these songs are written so well and the guitar riffs are just exceptional and super catchy, the guitar tone is also something to write home about as it’s just so thick, crisp and heavy but also smooth… the bass is so perfect, since there’s only one guitarist the bass shines through so well on this album. It’s got a thick and beefy tone that packs a punch and makes this album so fucking heavy and groovy. It’s pretty rumbly and is played mostly at a mid pace tempo which works perfectly and just sounds ominous throughout the whole album. It’s got such a perfect tone and just sounds fucking awesome!! The double bass is also such an interesting and unusual touch to the album that I’ve never seen before on a death metal album!! It adds so much more than I thought it would, it’s very very thick and powerful sounding and adds great dark atmosphere and texture to the album. The drumming is so well done and isn’t too over the top and is kept very interesting throughout. Next slide-

The drums are somewhat of the backbone of

Prima Prima Vera Premiere. Noen synes det var mer stas enn andre. Og noen synes det var mest stas at Terje Tysland (aka Sredna) hadde tatt seg turen til Fredrikstad!

☠️ 34 AÑOS DE ...IN PAINS

¿“Bypassed”, “Mr. Tumour’s Misery” o alguna otra? 👇
