Chicago songwriter Finn Swingley has been writing and recording since the early 1990s, both solo and with bands including @the.embryos , who held a six-month residency at the @themontrosesaloon. His latest solo album, Pet Hates (2024), was recorded at Chicago's Soapbox Music Studio. It's a collection of warm, layered alt-pop songs that reviewers have compared to Big Star and Tom Petty's Wildflowers. His newest project, in partnership with is Fan Fiction (@fanfiction.music), a gorgeously sprawling meditation on anxiety and depression in a fragile, post-reality world.

During his Guest DJ set Tues. Oct. 27 8-10 pm ET, Finn will debut Fan Fiction's new record Glitchy Gloomy, alongside material curated from his vast catalog and some of his favorite tracks from Chicago's indie music scene, and take requests from the Bounce community.

To join this FREE event, you will need a Bounce account. Sign-up is FREE at bounce.fm/signup, and so is uploading your first 10 songs. Join the live Lounge session via the @bounce.dot.fm bio or by clicking the event at bounce.fm/lounges.

“You’re Standing Inside the Instrument: A Score for 19 Buildings” opens tonight in LISTEN HEAR Gallery at CAMi 6-10pm.
More than 20 architects, designers, and other experts in the built environment suggested their favorite buildings in Indianapolis that we then paired with Indianapolis-based artists. The artists then played some aspect or aspects of the buildings as sort of instruments to create a part of a combined soundscape or a sort of song.

All 19 audio pieces will rotate at different times, creating a soundscape that varies throughout the run of the show. The audio pieces are all paired with static videos of the exteriors of the buildings by Jim Walker.

Artists:
Oreo Jones @oreojones (Walker Theatre)
Rob Funkhouser @funkoftherob (City Market)
Landon Caldwell @landonscaldwell & Mark Tester @mark_tester (Jungclaus Mill)
