My Honest Review:
This isn’t a book—it’s a pamphlet!😂

Part of the Amazon Deadly Ambition collection, I’m impressed that Andrea Mara managed to squeeze a whole clever, devious little thriller into such a short story. It’s fast, twisty, and you can read the whole thing during your lunch hour!

My only real complaint?
I wanted more!

Short, sharp, sneaky, and proof that apparently you don’t need 300 pages to cause problems. 😂

📚 Ça aurait dû être toi - Andrea Mara

📖 J’ai refermé ce livre avec le cœur qui battait encore un peu trop vite. On plonge dans un thriller du quotidien particulièrement efficace, où une simple erreur d’envoi sur un groupe WhatsApp va déclencher une véritable descente aux enfers.

Quand Susan partage par inadvertance des confidences et des secrets de voisinage au mauvais endroit, les tensions explosent et dès le lendemain, un meurtre vient faire basculer l’histoire dans l’horreur.

❤️ Ce que j’ai particulièrement aimé, c’est la façon dont l’autrice transforme une situation banale en un cauchemar totalement crédible.

Qui n’a jamais eu peur d’envoyer un message à la mauvaise personne ?

Andrea Mara exploite cette angoisse avec beaucoup d'intelligence et crée une tension qui ne retombe jamais.

J’ai également adoré l’ambiance du quartier résidentiel où tout semble parfait en apparence.

Derrière les façades impeccables se cachent des mensonges, des rancœurs et des secrets que chacun tente de protéger.

Au fil des chapitres, les soupçons changent constamment de direction et il devient presque impossible de savoir à qui faire confiance.

💭 Mon avis
Personnellement, j’ai été happée dès les premières pages.

Les chapitres courts, les nombreux rebondissements et la montée progressive de la paranoïa rendent la lecture extrêmement addictive.

J’ai particulièrement apprécié le fait que l’intrigue repose sur une peur très moderne, celle de l’exposition de notre vie privée à travers les réseaux et les messageries.

C’est un thriller psychologique prenant, rythmé et redoutablement efficace, qui m’a tenue en haleine jusqu’au dénouement.

🙏 Merci @meraeditions pour cette découverte captivante et @andreamaraauthor pour cette intrigue aussi addictive qu'angoissante.

Une lecture qui rappelle qu’un simple clic peut parfois avoir des conséquences inimaginables.

“Where I live in Dublin, I have ten bookshops within a small radius of my house – a number of Eason, Dubray and Bookstation branches, plus indies like Raven Books in Blackrock and The Gutter Bookshop in Dalkey. With so much choice on my doorstep, it’s impossible to pick a favourite, but I do visit Dubray Books in Blackrock over and over.

Their huge children’s section was a home-from-home when my kids were small, and it’s the bookshop I return to each year for my book launches. The booksellers know everything there is to know about books, there’s ample space for browsing, and an immediate sense of calm when you walk into the shop as well as the delicious smell of shelves and shelves of beautiful books.”

Susan fáradt, kisgyermekes tanár, akinek csak az csempész némi fűszert otthon töltött napjaiba,hogy aktívan követi a kertváros online csoportját. Az egyik tag megjegyzése rosszul érinti, ezért minden keserűségét megírja róla nővérének - legalábbis ő neki szánja, de az üzenet az említett csoportban landol. Hiába törli néhány perccel később névtelenül írt monológját, a baj már megtörtént és a kilétét is kinyomozták. Előbb csak fenyegetéseket kap, majd nemsokára meggyilkolnak egy nőt,akinek ugyanaz a címe,mint neki, csak a város másik felén. Vajon egybefügg a két dolog,vagy csak sajnálatos véletlen lenne?

Ha szereted a zárt közösségekben játszódó történeteket, ahol senki sem az,akinek látszik, és mindenkinek van legalább egy mocskos titka, akkor ez a regény is nagyon fog tetszeni.
Másrészt, nagyon fontos elgondolkodni azon,hogy az interneten való fröcsögés tárgya leggyakrabban egy szintén érző ember, akit fogalmunk sincs,hogy érint a gyalázkodás, mit vált ki belőle a nyilvános sértés, megaláztatás - vagyis, hogy mekkora súlya van indulatból leírt szavainknak.

My recent Library Book reads 📚

Well, That Escalated Quickly by Sarah Turner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
loved every minute of this book. I couldn’t put it down. It’s beautifully written, heartwarming, emotional, relatable and funny with likeable flawed characters that felt authentic and familiar. I liked Fran as a character and really empathised with her as a mum. And Ron is such a lovely character. It’s so enjoyable and I was hooked from the start, so easy to read and get immersed in the story. It’s well paced and left me smiling. An entertaining feel good story that I definitely recommend.

The Woman in Suite 11 by Ruth Ware ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I really enjoyed this book. The sequel to The Woman in Cabin 10. It’s fast paced and gripping. The layered mystery kept me guessing until the end. Well written. The suspense and twists kept me immersed in the pages. Couldn’t put it down. Definitely recommend. It’s worth the read, if you enjoy this genre.

In Glass Houses by Edel Coffey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I loved this book. I was not disappointed. I couldn’t put it down. I was hooked right from the start.
The writing is atmospheric and immersive with short chapters told from different POV’s and a dual timeline between the past and present.
So many twists and an ending you don’t see coming. It’s a real page turner. The characters are brilliant, some not that likeable, but all their backstories add depth to the storyline. Full of dark secrets and suspense. Definitely recommend for thriller fans. It’s well worth a read.

Such A Nice Girl by Andrea Mara ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I absolutely loved this book. Just wow! @andreamaraauthor never disappoints.
I was completely hooked right from the very first page and it keeps you guess until the end. The twists and turns just keep on coming and the dual timeline keeps it fast paced. Nothing is as it seems and you are left questioning everything and everyone as long buried secrets and lies are unraveled.
I couldn’t put this book down with its cleverly written layered plot and likeable characters.
A tense, compelling, drama filled gripping edge of your seat read. Definitely recommend for mystery thriller fans.

Stell dir vor, du möchtest dein Kind von seinem ersten Playdate abholen und plötzlich ist es spurlos verschwunden.

Die Vorstellung ist für mich der reinste Albtraum! Es ist jedoch das, was in „Alles ihre Schuld“ für Marissa und ihren Sohn Milo zur Realität wird.

Wir starten mit einem beklemmenden Gefühl ins Buch und werden hier schon beim Einstieg in die Geschichte gezogen. Je weiter ich gelesen habe, desto mehr Fragen sind aufgekommen. Was ist passiert? Wem kann man trauen? Wer verbirgt welches Geheimnis? Andrea Mara hat es hier wirklich geschafft, dass ich ständig damit beschäftigt war Puzzleteile zusammenzusetzen und Theorien aufzustellen, um dann von der Auflösung doch überrascht zu sein!

Andrea Mara hat hier einen durchaus guten und mitreißenden Thriller geschaffen, der wirklich an die Nerven geht.

Fazit: 4,5von5.

Avec " Je crois que je l’ai tuée ", Andrea Mara nous plonge dans un thriller psychologique glaçant où les apparences sont trompeuses et où chaque secret peut faire basculer toute une vie.

Joanna pensait avoir trouvé la maison parfaite pour sa famille… jusqu’à ce qu’elle découvre qu’une petite fille de trois ans y a disparu trente-trois ans auparavant. Une révélation qui va faire ressurgir des souvenirs troublants et semer le doute dans son esprit. Et si elle savait ce qui était arrivé à cette enfant ? Et si elle en était responsable ? 🫣

Ce que j’aime dans ce genre de thriller, c’est cette sensation de malaise qui s’installe progressivement, ces questions qui s’accumulent et cette envie irrépressible de comprendre ce qui se cache derrière les apparences. Ici, les secrets s’entremêlent, les certitudes vacillent et la vérité semble toujours nous échapper.

L’auteure joue avec nos soupçons et nous pousse à remettre constamment nos théories en question. On cherche des réponses, on essaie de démêler le vrai du faux et on se demande jusqu’où les mensonges peuvent nous entraîner…

🖤 Bref, un thriller domestique qui promet son lot de mystères, de tensions et de rebondissements ! Si vous aimez les histoires où le passé finit toujours par refaire surface et où personne ne semble totalement innocent, ce roman pourrait bien vous plaire.

📖 Hide and Seek by Andrea Mara

𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗞
When Joanna moves into her new home, it’s not long before she discovers the previous owners child had disappeared during a neighborhood game. Shaken, she begins investigating, uncovering secrets that connect the Lilly’s disappearance to Joanna’s own buried past.

𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘
The vibe is domestic tension and super secrets. Joanna is lying all over the place, so the tension mainly comes from her.

It’s layered, accessible and gripping, and I made a lot of notes. Not only did we have present day neighbors, but the dual timeline gave us double the amount of characters to remember.

I actually really liked the way Joanna’s sleuthing and the past layer together. There are lots of interconnected secrets, red herrings and revelations.

Midway, the investigation got a bit repetitive, with Joanna repeatedly digging into the same mystery.

I can’t say I was drawn to anyone, for me this felt very plot driven and was more about the mystery and secrets. Finding the truth was definitely worth the occasional slower-paced parts.

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗?
This is an addictive domestic thriller. I pretty much flew through it and really loved the twists and reveals. Another super solid Andrea Mara thriller.
