On Friday, November 13, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Maui Public Art Corps, the County of Maui, the Pāʻia Youth & Cultural Center (PYCC), and UH Sea Grant invite the community to the Kapukaʻulua Dune Restoration Celebration. Join us as we celebrate the people, plants, and partnerships helping restore and protect our coastlines!

As part of PYCC’s coastal rebuild, commissioned artist @andreamyersart Andrea Myers is designing site-specific glass tile mosaic designs to wrap 18 proposed exterior structural columns. Her design translates ancestral moʻolelo gifted by the Kealoha and Collier ʻohana into a vibrant visual narrative.

We need your touch to help bring this artwork to life! Bring items of clothing or fabric swatches to donate and join our “Mending the Land” fabric drive. You will have the chance to try your hand at stamping a communal kapa piece with our friends from Paeloko Learning Center. Your contributions and creative marks will be photographed and digitized directly into the permanent glass mosaic designs, embedding your family’s story into the living architecture of Pāʻia’s new youth sanctuary.

The afternoon will also feature native dune planting with UH Sea Grant coastal scientists, partner tables, live music, and more!

Event Details:

Date: Friday, November 13, 2026
Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Pāʻia Youth & Cultural Center (PYCC)
What to bring: Fabric swatches or clothing items to donate and integrate into the artwork

All are welcome to drop in, plant, stamp, and help shape a place built for future generations. Learn more at mauipublicart.org/beacons

A full-circle moment at The Line.

In the 1990s, Columbus artist Andrea Myers took Saturday morning drawing classes in this very building. Today, she’s back, creating a nearly 70-foot mural that will grow alongside The Line, reflecting the generosity of the community helping bring our vision to life.

The mural is more than art on a wall. It’s a living reflection of the people who believe in what we’re building. And during our third annual Service! Gala & Masquerade Ball, our guests will have the opportunity to leave their mark on it, too.
