Refilling our water jugs on the ranch!

Since the property sat for a while, we don’t have potable water just yet. For the time being, we take some 55 gallon drums into town to fill them, and then transport water to the cabin with these smaller 5 gallon jugs.

Writing this through soggy eyes.

This is all I need.   Coffee on the deck of the cabin. @kickerdogmuse by my side. Mountains, trees, quiet, and a place that already feels home is as good as it gets for me. Kicker is by far the most meaningful.

The thought Immediately brings me to tears.
Kicker is getting older. I know he won’t be here forever. He’s been beside me through so many chapters of my life, just like Booter was before him. These dogs have given me more than I could ever put into words. The intense amount of love and joy is beyond measure. I’m trying to be present for this chapter. To not rush through the mornings like this. To appreciate the simple moments while I’m still in them.
I’m so grateful for this life, for this place, and most of all for this dog.
I hope I can continue to honor both Kicker and Booter by living fully, loving deeply, and giving Kicker the absolute best life I possibly can. #dogslife #goldenretriever #love #museranch #homestead

The building that our drinking water tank is housed in, is currently completely infested by rodents. It’s unlikely we will have drinking water coming from the top for a couple weeks. In the meantime, we’re just using a system of getting drinking water from a local RV park filling 4 55 gallon jugs and then transferring the water into 5 gallon jugs. Super simple system pretty convenient. #homestead #offgrid #museranch #watersystem #howto
