Road2Release started with a belief that talent already exists. The challenge is creating the spaces, relationships, opportunities and networks that allow that talent to grow. Over the last year, Wolverhampton Art Gallery has worked with three cohorts of emerging artists through Road2Release, connecting them with producers, managers, creatives and real-world opportunities. This exhibition captures that journey. The planning. The people. The partnerships. The performances. The community. Road2Release: Retrospective is now open at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. Come and experience the story so far. 🎥 Film by @israeltosinog #Road2Release #WolverhamptonArtGallery #YouthMusic

Road2Release: Retrospective is now open at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. Over the last year, @road.2.release has worked with three cohorts of emerging artists from Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas, providing access to industry professionals, studio sessions, live performance opportunities, mentoring and creative networks. What started as an artist development programme became something bigger: a platform for connection, collaboration and community. This exhibition documents that journey through photography, film, artefacts and artist stories, capturing the people, partnerships and moments that helped shape Road2Release so far. More than a retrospective, it’s a celebration of the artists, facilitators, collaborators and wider creative community that made it possible. Open now at Wolverhampton Art Gallery in our Making Space #Road2Release #Wolverhampton #YouthMusic

A massive thank you to everyone who came down, you made the first Breakout really special and an amazing building block for more. 🫶🏻 Thank you to Kitty Bella and Jeepster for their incredible live sets, to Andrew Smallman, Jonny Amos and Pete Donnelly for giving their time and bringing so much value to the panel, and to the team at Dead Wax for having us. Big love to Ross, Josh, Callum, Meli, Justice and everyone behind the scenes who helped pull it together. Events like this take a lot more work than people see, so we’re really grateful to everyone who gave their time, advice, energy and support. Breakout was built to bring artists, creatives and people working across music in the Midlands into the same room, creating more connection, more opportunity and a stronger independent music community. Thursday was the start of that. Thank you to everyone who was part of it. Stay tuned. 🖤

✨ When good people and good energies converge, remarkable things happen. 🔝 A 10/10 day of writing, announcing, meeting, planning, supping, listening, introducing and laughing. 🍸Hats off to Alex and the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend team for a class programme, launched at Hotel du Vin earlier this evening supported by el Jimador tequila. A super valuable asset for F&B reminding us of the world class mixology in our city. 💥A standing ovation for Callum, Ross, Anna, Anna, and Josh - as well as Ed, Kitty, Chris and the panellists - for a truly excellent first ever edition of Breakout at Dead Wax Digbeth. So many inspiring music heads in the place. Absolutely certified, and a strong foundation for future events. ❤️ 0121 love
