🩵⛰️Ironman Lake Placid 2026 ⛰️ 🩵

This will take a few posts, but this one is going to attempt to come close in expressing the amount of gratitude I have for the amazing support leading into and through this race.

Originally, my plan was for Roth this year. Long story short, things were not aligning and I made the decision to defer and continue my training and knew the right decision was Placid with the team. I was at peace with my decision and knew there was a reason, but wasn’t sure what, but I listen when the answer is loud.

I woke on July 1st excited for my bday month and for this race. Something felt off that morning & soon discovered why. I received the call that my little brother passed away in his sleep. Confused and in shock. I sat on the floor for a few hours and then immediately went into planning mode and was on the road to be with my parents the next morning. Since the start of July, this training and my coach have kept me structured and focused when everything else has been confusing. When I told Rob what was going on & that I was moving workouts around he was understanding, but also emphasized that the work was done for this race and not to worry.

I’ve had so many “Why’s” over the years, but I immediately knew that this wasn’t about me, but for Tyler. To still do the race because that’s what he would have wanted and to make him proud. To have his picture on my bike and my running vest to tell people about him who asked for 140.6 miles.

I’m eternally grateful for my super Sherpa Steph who was absolutely amazing the entire trip! She watched me do practice swims, go through my bags like a crazy person, and talk things through. I always love our time together and our friendship means the world to me. 💜

Doing this race with the team was something I didn’t know I needed until I needed it the most. We may not all live in the same places, but after some found out about Tyler the support was there. Through training buddies I’ve made and even after the finish line. What this team has become is something that I’ve always wanted. I saw our athletes all day-supporting each other—-continued in comments.

One of my athletes shared with me while she was in the midst of the marathon, suffering on the lonely out and back, she remembered her why: The Team. 😭

This team is what makes our world go round. The love and care everyone has for one another is something you simply can’t replicate. The respect and admiration our athletes have for both their teammates and their competitors is what makes us the proudest.

Our first Ironman weekend as a team was about so much more than finish lines. It was about showing up for each other, believing in one another, and proving that no one has to chase their dreams alone. 🩵
