How many more black folks gotta die? Why can’t we go for a run in peace? Why cant we kick it in our own apartments in peace? Why there gotta be a knee on our neck forcing us to rest in peace? And now as we await justice, there is no peace. All of this further raises my concern for whenever I might have an interaction with cops. No not all cops are bad, it’s just a few “bad apples”. But you can’t have this many “bad apples” in other jobs like being a pilot for an airliner. And how can you tell which cops are bad? How can you tell if getting pulled over for a busted tail light will get you killed? How can you tell if your 12 year old son will get shot for holding a toy gun in the park? My wife (who is white) and I have had many conversations about what’s been happening. I’m proud of her for seeking to have a deep understanding of the issues and really feel the pain of black America, so that she’ll be better educated for herself and for our future kids. Everything we’ve seen (Emmett Till-Rayshard Brooks) causes concern in me for when we have to teach our future kids about being black in America and they have to do the best they can with that info. Because even if they do everything right, things can still go very wrong. All I can do is trust Jesus. Trust Him to deal with the issues and pain of today, trust Him to keep me and all my family & black loved ones safe, and trust Him with all the children of the future. Only Jesus will wipe every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more.

I am a BLACK MAN!..... I build .... I don't tear down other BLACK MEN! ....I have felt the pain of being torn down and I have decided I will be deliberate about building others! If I didn't tag you, please don't be offended. I tried to pick people I thought would do this challenge!! All too often, we men find it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let's do something positive!!🌟 💫

I was in a car accident on the way to my wedding. Isaiah was driving Andru and I to the venue. While turning left off exit 102 on I85, someone ran their red light and t-boned us (damage seen in next pic). Andru was bleeding a little from his head and hand, and had to miss the ceremony to get checked out. The rest of us, including the other driver, weren’t injured. Still, I was shaken and very upset. I was upset that Isaiah was now out of a car, that Andru (one of my groomsmen btw) was hurt and had to miss half of the wedding, that the other driver lied to the police about what happened & pinned the blame on us in order to protect himself. I was glad things didnt end up worse than they did, but still getting hit at all wasn’t ideal. Especially not on my wedding day. Now why am I sharing this? Because the wedding still happened. Isaiah still sang (and he sounded amazing). Andru made it back for the reception in great spirits. Everyone was still able to come together in agreement for what God decided to do with Madison and I. Besides pictures of my wife and I, this is my favorite picture of the day. Shot at the reception, you see Andru there on the left, and Isaiah behind me with his hand on my shoulder. Sure I like it because it’s a fun/funny shot, but it means so much more than that. We’re all there dancing and having fun despite the enemy trying to mess up our day and take us out. To me, it’s like we’re laughing right in the devil’s face, because we know God was with us. That day, God demonstrated that He is our shield and our protector. His hand was on that car and over our lives. He gave us joy and a peace of mind, despite what happened earlier that day. NO weapon formed against me will prosper. I’m so thankful for everything He did for us all that day, and for what He’s done for me in my own life. Satan is a loser.
