Andy is a film and commercial editor and the founder of Open Water Post, a boutique post house in East Nashville. Born in the Midwest and raised on a steady diet of westerns and classic WWII films, he had his sights set on filmmaking early. He spent the first 11 years of his career cutting in Los Angeles, working with brands such as Sony, Amazon Prime, and Adidas, before moving his family to Nashville and opening his own shop. He recently cut Frequency of Hope, a feature documentary about an Alaskan mother who rebuilds her life after addiction by turning a failing radio station into a lifeline while chasing the Mrs. Alaska crown.

The entire team at @visitmusiccity has so much in motion at any given moment, always juggling a million things in real time, on dozens of projects, often working months in advance. They’ve spent so much time working on Nashville’s bid for the 2030 Super Bowl, and as of today, Super Bowl LXIV is officially headed to the new stadium. Their proposal and theme, “Where Legends Play,” feels iconic and deeply true to the soul of our city. 
My team jumped into the project less than 30 days ago. We helped develop the idea and then found ourselves on set barely 10 days after first hearing about the project. I’m incredibly proud of what we built together in such a tight timeline, and feel a real nostalgia knowing every collaborator on this job calls Nashville home.   From the hometown, for the hometown, where legends play. 80% of child sexual abuse cases go unreported.

Earlier this week I released a short film that shows the two paths of a young girl choosing to tell someone about an abuse vs remaining silent. Victims are often pressured and manipulated not to tell. Often by the people that are supposed to love them the most.

Be careful. Know the signs. Learn to listen.

Thanks to @nashvillechildrensalliance for the trust to make this film and to my insanely dedicated crew and cast who donated a lot of time to make this a reality.

Part II: The Premiere.
This is the moment we really came for. To celebrate Rachel Lambert's film, Carousel, and to see my name in the credits at the Sundance Film Festival.

3. It was so incredibly humbling to see how many hundreds of people waited outside in the cold to see this film. Simply, wow.

The odds of having to simulate melting a peasant’s face off for your project are low, but never zero. Here’s a glimpse at how we did it.

HUGE shout out to Mazie Bizwell @mazie_bb for absolutely crushing the effect (and for an even deeper dive into the full FX process, go check out her page). And to Cary Graham @thehacknovelist for such seamless VFX work to make it land on screen as real and cringe worthy as possible.

To @customer.svc (i.e. the directors @connor_carroll & @seanpdave) for having such an insane idea in the first place, and to every last one of our crew, collaborators and supporters who thought this was funny enough, or wild enough, or stupid enough to jump in and help us make it.
