Another magical dance moment with @aneek_7 โœจthis time at the @latinflowacademy social last Saturday ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ–ค I feel like every dancer has an ideal in their minds of what a perfect dance should be like. We all have our favourite dance cocktail, a flawless a blend of ingredients that come together in an ideal ratio in one moment. ๐ŸŒŸ Let me share with you my personal secret recipe (in a nutshell): 1/5 Presence (in your body, in the moment, thatโ€™s the bare minimum and foundation for everything) 1/5 Musicality (Iโ€™m not talking about just hitting the accents, iykyk) 1/5 Freedom of expression (only possible with a solid foundation of presence and connection, to be able to open up emotionally & physically) 1/5 Technique (not for rigid control, but to create a clear channel for the creative flow) and of course, last but not least: 1/5 Connection (compatibility with your partner on the energetic & physical levels, as well as the 4 above-mentioned elements and ability to feel, listen, communicate together with each other, co-creating a story in the moment) When all of these elements come together, I feel like something just clicks and unlocks and you find yourself in a space where nothing exists but the present moment. Your mind shuts up for a second and you are just there, experiencing an amalgam of sounds, lights, sensations, emotions. Just feeling alive and co-creating magic together with another human being. I must say, this particular moment came veeery close to that ideal I hold in the back of my mind. ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ So grateful for such moments and also for @bachata.influence being the perfect kitchen to cook up such magical cocktails in.
