🤎 #leperche #designstudio #shooting #japanstyle

Pedestal Furniture ANF EDITION The collection is crafted from Japanese birch plywood sourced and manufactured in Hokkaido, treated with kakishibu (fermented persimmon tannin). Rather than hiding construction, the design makes visible joints, planes, and proportions as vital parts of the final structure, echoing vernacular forms shaped by everyday use. Tokyo-based designer Luka Yasukawa began working on the collection in 2018. Approached as a case study, ANF revisited its production together with Yasukawa, moving away from imported timber and standard industrial finishes. The project was reoriented towards materials produced in Japan and processes aligned with local resources, manufacturing realities, and long-term availability. Our Hokkaido-made birch plywood was selected for its structural reliability and sustainability, with a layered composition supporting both the physical use of the pieces and their presence as spatial elements within an interior. Born in Japan. Unveiled in Paris. This week, unveiling the latest furniture collection at MATTER and SHAPE in Paris, France. Led by the Paris-based design studio A New Framework, and created in collaboration with emerging designer Luka Yasukawa, the new armchair and stool are crafted from premium, ethically sourced Japanese birch plywood. Each piece is finished with kakishibu, a traditional Japanese persimmon tannin dyeing technique — enhancing both beauty and durability. Refined yet practical. Rooted in Japanese craftsmanship, presented on a global stage. @anewframework @lukayasukawa #pedestalfurniture #takizawaveneer #ecoshiraplywood #takizawaplywood #matterandshape
