What if IKEA could be, dare we say it,
bespoke?

@angelabuntcreative took the challenge and the results speak for themselves.
A classic @ikea_australia kitchen island bench in Angela’s Sydney home has been boldly and stylishly painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Antibes Green and finished with Clear and Dark Wax. Angela applied a wash of Old White on the timber bench top and more Dark Wax for age and protection.
Bold. Customised. Truly unique.
Are you ready to take up the challenge?

Happy Insta Birthday!
My first post on Instagram was on April 12th, 2012. I wasn't too keen at first, my daughter suggested it, and encouraged me, so I gave it a whirl. I was in hospital, and very fed up.

I loved it, it was a window into worlds I'd never have been party to, drawing rooms in Tangier, bread making in Cork, flower arranging in Amsterdam, chatting to sjp - I was invited by @loewe to an ikebana workshop - events, openings, receptions, and received gifts and letters from all over the world. It was interesting, and we all chatted, it was fun, and funny.... I was a 'Big Name' apparently 😂😂😂 and I met so many folk from my Insta family...

Last year, in January, I put my phone down. Various, and quite challenging issues were raging behind the scenes, I shall write about this over on my Substack account, more of that later ...

I was away from social media for 12 months and tentatively dipped a toe back in the Insta pool in February....
It's changed.
So much.
Add music here, do a trial reel, no, no, it's carousels you need, hashtag this, don't hashtag, algorithm, algorithm, algorithm...

So off I obediently go, to comply, AND it takes me FOR EVAH then to discover only a handful of folk see the posts, well, maybe you have to BOOST the post (🤑 no thank you) and then every post I see in my feed isn't my lovely followers from time immemorial 🫤 it's GRWM OOTD BUY NOW LINK IN BIO

So what's a girl to do? What are your thoughts? I miss the interaction... the authenticity, the integrity, the originality, the laughs, and I miss writing.

Day 1 #resetwithreelschallenge3

OUR STORY
We are Roz and Abi AKA Tipperleyhill.

Our name is a mix of our surnames, (Abi) Tippetts and (Roz) Berkeley-Hill

We met in NYC in 1999 working in a textile design studio & became besties straight away

Roz is left handed, Abi right

We both paint windows, murals, canvases & illustrations

At least once a fortnight we create together

Strangely when we paint together it’s 3 times faster(and 3 times more fun!) than when we paint individually! We worked that out when we did a couple of windows on our own.

If you believe art is for everyone, drop us a comment below! You are our people!

📷 The two fab photos at the end are made by talented @hesterbarnes_brandphotographer

🌈 I'm excited to share one of my older paintings, "Peppers," now featured on a hoodie. This vibrant still life piece captures the natural beauty of peppers, highlighting rich red and yellow hues. The intricate play of texture and shadow adds depth and realism, making the composition truly engaging. Inspired by the colors and forms of fresh produce, this artwork was a unique exploration of using light to enhance textures and dimensions. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on how "Peppers," now reimagined on a hoodie, brings the simple yet striking elegance of these elements to life.

Creativity fuels everything I do— from painting with organic materials and creating sculptures to song-writing and dancing. Thanks to my parents, who always encouraged my creativity, I’ve embraced creativity as a way of life.

As an ‘adult’ (whatever that means), creativity helps me through tough times as well as making life more joyful.

🌈 Who else keeps hearing about quiet luxury? 🛋️✨ Quiet luxury is all about refined, understated elegance and high-quality choices, rather than flashy displays of wealth.

It’s also about making thoughtful decisions for your life and home that elevate your space without breaking the bank.

Art from an independent artist is a perfect way to bring quiet luxury into your home—subtle yet incredibly impactful.

What do you think? Take a look at my online art gallery and see if anything sparks your inspiration. 🖼️✨

“Fall Twilight”

I painted "Fall Twilight" to evoke a sense of tranquility and connection with the natural world. The calming hues and gentle brushstrokes create a soothing atmosphere, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of the landscape. This painting serves as a reminder to slow down, appreciate the simple moments, and find peace in the midst of a busy world.
