It's been 2 weeks since the opening of 'Teeth' @creswellcrags

If you haven't had the chance to visit yet, do make the trip to see the new exhibition. Don't forget to grab a coffee from the cafe and take a stroll in the autumn sunshine around the gorge and caves*. We did it at the preview, and it was gorgeous! ☀️✨️ * Check the website to book cave tours.

📍Creswell Crags, Crags Road, Creswell, Worksop, Nottinghamshire S80 3LH.

🎟 Free entry to see the exhibition and gorge. Entry fees apply for the museum and parking.

It's nearly guest speaker season, and we're excited to announce the first two speakers coming up in October and November!

On October 13th we'll be hearing from Dr Angharad Jones. Angharad works as the collections officer at Cresswell Crags - an archaeological park that boasts an impression collection of rock art and sites from the Ice Age. She has a background in prehistory, and her research has focused on the lives of mammals during the ancient Pleistocene. She will be taking to us all about her experience in managing a collection such as that at Cresswell Crags, and the journey that brought her from a BSc in Geography to working in a museum.

On November 3rd we'll be chatting with Dr Lillian Cespedes Gonzalez. Lillian started her own business - Travelusion Tours - back in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, where she had the idea to offer the possibility of virtual guided tours. The company now offers hybrid tour possibilities, based mainly in the UK, and aims to make cultural tourism accessible, affordable and sustainable. She will be talking to us all about her experiences and inspirations for working as a tour guide, as well as setting up your own company associated with cultural heritage and history.

Mark your calendars and check the Discord server to see the event in your local time!

Episode 3: Lesions in the Land - out now!

Artist-researchers Verity Birt and Una Hamilton Helle are on a search for Deep England, asking what the term means and where to find it? To help them on their journey they speak to artists, writers, musicians and academics whose research and practices broaden the pastoral picture. In this episode they speak to broadcaster, DJ and writer Zakia Sewell, whose podcast series My Albion was a quest for the more mystical and inclusive side of England. They also go on a journey through deep time with paleontologist Angharad Jones and experimental vocal trio CRONE (Blue Firth, Freya Barlow and Isabel Jones) through the caves of Creswell Crags.
