After a long, beautiful day, I find myself reflecting with a heart full of gratitude. Today was a reminder of why I still feel so blessed to do this work.

Having the opportunity to work in this community for 29 years, to build relationships, create meaningful experiences, and witness the joy, pride, and togetherness of our students, families, staff, and community is truly special.

As I approach the final years of my career, I find myself appreciating these moments more deeply than ever. The long days, the challenges, the celebrations, and even the exhaustion all become part of a journey that has given me more than I could have ever imagined.

Today, I didn’t just witness a joyous event. I witnessed the power of community, the beauty of belonging, and the impact of the work we do together. And I am so proud to have been a part of it!

After 29 years, my heart is full. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead, to serve, and to make a difference.

Tonight, I am tired, but I am fulfilled. I am proud, but most of all, I am THANKFUL. ❤️
Thank you @the_morrisaniaairrightshouses for making this day possible. These are memories that will last a lifetime.

A very special thank you to Principal Yesnick and her amazing staff for bringing @psms31x students to visit our mural and meet Angurria in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

And what a way to celebrate Spirit Day: dressed as the M.A.R mural! Seeing the students bring our mural to life left hardly a dry eye on the M.A.R side. 🥹🎨

Thank you to The @communityfundnyc , @angurria and @artbridge for helping create something that connects generations through art, culture and community. Today was a moment we will always treasure.

New York Under The Radar.

The biggest mural in New York, The Bronx and the United States of America. 29 stories is the height. The Boogie down Bronx continues to bring people who creatively innovate. This is Morrisania/ Melrose. This is the neighborhood of my Pops and Grand Ma..

This is an innovative piece by the artist, #Angurria. The artist told me it was the most challenging mural he's ever done, I believe him🙏🏼🎨

The visual of this beautiful and huge mural is varying light and clarity, there are days I used a Canon camera, a DJI osmo, and an s26 ultra. The uniformity won't be consistent, but take the visual ride with me, its been a rough 4 weeks for me...

El documental WE ARE THE BRONX es finalista de los @anthemawards 🏆 en la categoría Documentary/Film de Educación, Arte y Cultura.

Como parte de la Downtown Revitalization Initiative del Estado de Nueva York, el @thirdavenuebidhub se unió al Estado de Nueva York, BXEDC, @foga_atelier , Omar García @angurria y artistas locales del Bronx para pintar tres murales en el corazón del corredor comercial. Dirigido por Robert Chong de @chongslaboratory, el documental muestra lo que este proyecto significa para la comunidad que convive con estos muros todos los días.

Los Anthem Awards, evaluados por la International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), reconocen proyectos de impacto social en todo el mundo. Mientras el jurado decide entre oro, plata y bronce, el Community Voice Award depende de ustedes.

The WE ARE THE BRONX documentary is a Finalist at the @anthemawards 🏆 in the Documentary/Film category for Education, Arts & Culture.

As part of the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative, the Third Avenue BID partnered with New York State, BXEDC, FOGA, Omar García “Angurria” and local Bronx artists to paint three murals in the heart of the district’s commercial corridor. Directed by Robert Chong, the documentary shows what this project means to the community that lives with these walls every day.

The Anthem Awards, judged by IADAS, honor purpose-driven, social impact work around the world. While the jury decides between Gold, Silver and Bronze, the Community Voice Award is in your hands.
